Let's take a closer look at the communication templates. Rock's Communication Wizard uses templates to allow you to quickly customize and send communications, both email and SMS messages. But the templates aren't the communications themselves. They're just a a shell or framework for the messages. And Rocklick gives you the ability to customize these templates to fit your organization's needs.
So let's take a look here now at how to modify a template. Begin by going to the admin tools menu and selecting communications. And from here, you're gonna select communication templates. So these are the templates that that ship with Rock. You can modify these or you can create your own.
And for this demonstration, I'm going to modify this default template. I'm gonna make a copy of it and then customize it for a church. So to copy it, I'm going to click the copy button. You'll see I now have copy of default. I'm gonna click on that, and it takes me to this detail screen where I can actually do the modifications.
So I'm gonna call it Rock Church demo default. And you'll see I can give it a description. I can assign it a category. I can give it a template preview image, which is really helpful when you've, acquired a lot of templates and you're going through the communication wizard and you need to find a template quickly, having an image of the one that you want is, helps you identify it easily. I can also assign the template a from name and a from address, a subject and attachments.
And if you scroll down, you'll see this is where the template actually is, and and you can modify it from the screen and see your changes in real time. So you'll notice here that that the default template has the RockRMS logo. Well, I'm gonna change out that logo for our church demo. So I'm gonna click on upload. I'm gonna go find that image, and I'm going to insert it.
And you'll see it updates in real time so I can see the changes I'm making as I'm making them. Let's do some more changes. Let's start changing the the background colors. So I'm gonna change the header background color. You see the the, settings over here on the right.
I'm gonna change that background color. Let's see. I'm gonna give it a hexadecimal number. I also can click on the, color picker here as well. But if the hexadecimal numbers that you wanna use, you can put them in.
And to see the changes here, you click update, and you'll see that the changes are made. You can see the color change there. Let's change the link color as well. So I'm gonna make this one, let's see, eight. And, again, I'm gonna click update.
There. So I've customized my colors and my logo. Remember, this is just a a shell for my my message. It's not the actual message. Also, in you'll notice up here on the right, there's, preview mode.
You can see what this will look in a desktop environment or in a mobile environment. And there's also this advanced tab up here where if you wanna get really technical and change the layout of the template, you can you can do that. But we're not gonna do that today. We're gonna stick with our preview mode here. If you scroll down, you'll see there is an SMS section below where you can also set up your SMS template message as well, and it uses merge fields in Lava.
So when I click save, I now have my Rock Church demo default. And when I then go through the communication wizard, this will show up in my template selection screen as one of the options for sending my communication. So as you can see, there's a lot of flexibility, and modifying these templates is easy, and, you can customize them for your organization.
