Rock U - Event & Calendar - Additional Registration Fees v13
Transcribed Video Content
In the registration fees video, you saw different options for fees. In this video, we're gonna show you an example of how to set one up. So, we're gonna go to tools, and under tools, we'll click on event registration. And then we're gonna pull up the template for our summer camp. And if we edit the template, we can come down to the fees section.
And this is where we're gonna go ahead and add a fee. So let's add a fee here. Now, this fee is gonna be for camp t shirts. So we'll just call this fee t shirts. We'll give it a name.
Down below, you have options for single or multiple. And that's, are you gonna buy one thing and that's all that there is, or are there multiple different options? So, you might use single if it was something a workbook. But in this case, for something t shirts, we want multiple because there's gonna be multiple sizes of t shirts. So, let's go ahead and add some t shirt sizes.
And we'll do that by clicking this plus button here. And we'll say that we have a small size t shirt that's $10. And then you have this max available field, and that's how many basically you have in stock that, that people can take. And we'll say that we've got a hundred of these shirts. And now, can add a couple more sizes.
And there we've got a few sizes set up, all of them being 10 and we have a hundred of each of them. So we've got 300 t shirts total. Over to the right, we have some additional options. So here we have enable quantity up at the top. And if this is enabled, then that means the person can buy more than one of the things.
So if somebody wanted to buy three large t shirts, this is how you would let them do that. But for our camp, we're gonna say one t shirt per person, and so we're not gonna enable quantity. Then you can choose whether or not the discount applies. So if there is a discount, should it apply to this fee or not? And then down below, have an is active setting.
So if you make this inactive, if you deselect this, then it won't be included in the registration, for people going forward. But people who already had it, will will still have it on the record. And then moving over to the right, we have is required. And this will do different things depending on your, on your configuration of the fees. So, for instance, if there's a single option over here that you have required, then it'll automatically check the box for the fee, and it'll prevent any changes while the person is registering.
If you have a single option with quantity, then it'll have a minimum quantity of one is what the is required will do in that case. If you have is required enabled and you have multiple options we have here, it'll display a message if no value is selected from the drop down, and it'll force the person to make a selection. So, the person would have to choose small, medium, or large before proceeding with the registration. And then last but not least, if you have it set to multiple with quantity, then it'll display a message if all of the options have a value of zero. So if they're buying zero small, zero medium, and zero large, they won't be able to proceed with the registration until they indicate that they want at least one of one of the different types.
So that's what is required does. And then down below, we have hide when none remaining. And if this is enabled, it just means that the option is gonna be taken off the list. People won't see it when they go to register, if there's, none remaining. So, for example, if we ran out of medium shirts and there were zero left, if hide when none remaining is enabled, then people would only see small and large options to choose from.
So we're gonna go ahead and save this, and we'll save the template. And let's take a look at fees in the context of an actual registration. So here, we're we're we'll go through the registration process. We'll sign up one registrant, and we'll get this form filled out. So here we'll be registering John Smith, and then down at the bottom of his registration, we can see our t shirts feed.
And if we click the drop down, then we can see our small, medium, large, how much they cost, the fact that there's a hundred remaining. And so let's go ahead and pick the medium t shirt. And then we'll click next to proceed with the registration. Then here on the review page, we can see that the t shirt is showing up as a line item, on the payment summary, and we can see that it's for $10, and it gets added to the total cost of the registration. And we'll go ahead and pay to finish the process.
And with the payment information entered, we can click finish. And on this screen, again, we can see that, John Smith was registered for the camp, and that as an additional fee, he purchased a t shirt for $10. Now let's go back to the registration itself and take a look at the fee there. So if we go to our summer camp instance, you can see down here that there's a fees tab. And if we click that tab, we can see our registration for John Smith and that he purchased a t shirt.
He purchased one of them for $10. And each time a a fee is applied, you'll see a new row here entered into this list. So that's how you can add and use fees.
