Rock's media feature comes with amazing analytics that you can use to inform your digital strategy. You can tell what videos are more popular than others and even drill down into the video level to see what parts of a video people are watching or skipping over. You can use this information to see what works and what doesn't to inform that aspect of your digital strategy. Let's take a look. To start with, you'll need a media account, and you can find those under admin tools, CMS configuration, and media accounts. Now here we're using a local media account just for example purposes, but typically what you'll need to do is download and install a plug in, for Vimeo or YouTube that we have in the Rock Shop, to be able to sync the media in Rock with your media accounts on those external sites. But once you have an account set up and you've got some media added to it, you can drill down into the account and then into the folder and then to the individual media element itself. And when you do, you'll see the media element page. And there's a lot of information on this page, so let's break it down. Near near the top right of the block, we have a chart, a graph that shows two lines. A green line, which represents portions of the video that were rewatched, so watched more than once by the same person. And then the blue line represents overall engagement, so how many people were watching the video at a particular point in time that that started the video. And the best part about this is that if you hover your mouse over either of these graphs, the background will change to show a thumbnail from that exact point in the video. So here where we see a peak in rewatches, we can use that to to show that this the part being rewatched is the part where navigation to the campus configuration is given, and that's an important part, and people are rewatching it. We can tell that from this graph. Again, you can also look at the engagement that shows for any given moment of the video, how many people, are watching it. Over to the right, we have a couple quick statistics. So this is this top statistic gives us the engagement percentage, and the help text here tells you how that's, derived. It's the total minutes played divided by the length of the video times the total number of plays, and that gives us our engagement percentage. You can also see how many times the video has been played and how many total minutes have been watched. Down below, we have a plays per day graph, and you can change the range of this graph from ninety days to twelve months if you want, but this shows you on any given day how many times, the video was watched. And in this case, it goes all the way back to January twenty ninth of twenty twenty two, for for this ninety day period. So this is a great way to tell how popular your videos are, , or if its popularity is waning, or if people are still watching it or not. A lot of information that you can get from this graph. Then down below, we have individual plays. So if the person is known, their name and their picture will be shown up. Otherwise, it'll just show up as unknown if we if the person isn't logged in or isn't identified. And for each person, you can see the date and the time that they watched the video. You can see which portions of the video they watched. That's in blue. So in this example, an unknown person only watched about 50% of the video and then stopped, and we can tell that here. You can also see in these areas highlighted dark blue, where people have rewatched portions of the video. That's what the dark blue means. So somebody went back and rewatched, in this case, near the middle of the video. And, you can also see if people are skipping around by looking at these gray areas in between the blue areas. ? So here we can see Ty McClintock only watched 53% of the video because he skipped around a little bit. So as you've seen, there's a wealth of information available to you for each of your digital media elements. These are the kinds of insights that you won't get from other digital media providers. So be sure to make Rock an integral part of your digital media strategy.
