Alright. So let's look at running check-in. And so we're gonna walk through the check-in process, kinda give you an understanding of what's going on behind the scenes. And hopefully, that'll help you understand the configuration just a little bit better. Okay.
So you get to check-in by going to your server and and typing slash check-in at the end and that will bring you to the check-in screen. The first thing you might see though depending on where you're at is a configuration screen. So when it comes up, a lot of times it's gonna ask you, okay, what do you wanna how do you wanna configure, this check-in for, today? Now it remembers all these settings. So if once you set it once, typically, this will be already ready for you and you just hit okay.
But you're gonna be able to pick the theme, which kiosk that the current device is operating as, the configuration that you want, are you doing a week weekend service check-in or you're doing volunteer check-in, The various areas that this kiosk should be checking in for and, any additional areas that you that you configure. Okay. After doing that, you're gonna get to the the welcome screen. And the themes here are are very easy to configure. Just a few color settings and and really the big thing is the background.
And so these are very easy to configure, very easy to to create custom ones for your church. We ship with three out of the box for you to pick and you can use them as a a great starting point for creating your own. Okay. So let's look at this various screen flows for check-in. Now, this can be a little bit different whether you're you're doing individual check-in or family check-in.
And so I would label individual check-in as a serial process. You kinda go through and when you're all done, you can start back up at the select person and go through again and again. Whereas family check-in is more of a parallel, check-in. So you come through, you pick the various people that you're gonna, do the check-in for here and then you're gonna continue through and then just come through this smaller state for each one. So, but in general, the first thing we're gonna do is enter our phone number or possibly our name.
That'll give us a listing of families that we can select from that match that phone number or name. Once we pick the families then we're gonna select the person or people depending on which one we're doing. And then it this is where it gets a little bit different. So let's just stick with the individual. Next, we'll select the area.
Once we select the area, we'll select the group. And then once we select the group, we're gonna get the locations. And then finally, select the service times and then we're done. Now one thing that should be noted here especially on the individual side is if there's only one option for any one of these for the specific person that you selected, it'll actually skip that step. So based on this person's age or grade, you might actually skip through, several of these.
In fact, it's it's possible that during your last service, if that person only matches one group and that group only has one location, it could be that you'd actually skip from selecting person to being done. Okay. So while this might see seem a long process, a lot of these steps will actually get skipped based on the person and the configuration. Okay. So now if you're on the family side after selecting the people, you're then gonna select the service times because it's, probably the case that the the same people are gonna use the same service times.
We can get that all done at once. Then we're gonna go find the area group and location for each one of those individuals and kind of loop through here. Again though, this might be already set to only have one option in which case you you skip down here to the done. Okay? So that's at a high level, what the screen flow would look .
So if you do, have the manager mode enabled, you will see this faint gear down here and that gives your volunteers and staff just a little place to to click or tap to enable the manager mode. Now when you do that, you're gonna need a pin number. And so think of a pin number as really just a password. Okay? And that's where you actually configure it.
You go to the person's profile page and you enter in a new account type of of PIN and then enter their PIN number. So the reason why we we stuck with PIN is because it's a lot easier to punch in numbers on this 10 key than to have a huge on screen keyboard where they have to type it in. So that's why we we stick with a PIN. Now once you are into that manager mode, you have the ability to actually open and close rooms right from the kiosk. Okay.
So you can go back and do this from the check-in manager. I'm sorry. The yeah. The the the check-in manager on your phone or you could actually go back into Rock and do it. But this is actually sometimes it's a little bit easier, just to go up to a kiosk, log in or or pin in as a a manager in an open and close rooms.
So also from the screen too, if you wanted to do an override, you could do that. And that will allow you to override a check-in. And basically, it says, hey, I know this person isn't the right age for kittens, but I'm just gonna let them go in there anyways. And then also from there, you can adjust the scheduled for the locations. Typically, this isn't something that you're gonna do.
It's a it's a kind of a very busy interface to be doing this from a kiosk, but it is possible. So if you need to make an emergency, shutdown of a room on a specific schedule, you can do that. Just note though, what you change here lasts. So it's not just for that day, it's this is a a permanent configuration change. So you probably wanna come back and change that when you're done.
Okay. So adding a PIN, we talked about that. You just go to the person profile page, go to security, user accounts, hit the plus sign and it'll bring up a a dialogue here for you to enter in their pin. And that's the pin's basically gonna be the username. And we want you to be able to see that so that you can make sure you get that correct.
Okay. So that's the basic walkthrough of the check-in screens.
