Okay. So let's look at schedules and this is the when of check-in. We would configure that the schedules under admin tools check-in schedules. And basically, what you'll see is just, some categories and the actual schedules. So here, we set up a category called service times and then the actual schedule items, schedule times below that.
Now, this category is kind of important because you're gonna be using this category to select which schedules are gonna be valid for certain check-in patterns. So typically, you probably don't wanna go too deep with this, categorization. Just kinda keep a few top level ones for things service times where if there's another check-in, type that you have that has different times, you could create a new category for that. But, typically, you're gonna pick that category and then its children are really gonna be, where you, you pick from. Now one thing to note that's actually really nice here is that if you pick a specific, schedule Sunday at 9AM, it's actually gonna tell you when the next one is gonna be.
So as you're debugging your check-in, you're wondering, well, how come this check-in isn't active? You can come in here and just kind of verify that your schedules is correct because really this this Sunday at 9AM, that's just some text. Okay? You type that in and I'll show you where you type that in. But it's really this this occurrence, this next occurrence is gonna tell you if you're if you're configured correctly.
Okay? So let's jump in and look at some of these settings. So here we are looking at Sunday at 9AM. And the first thing that you're wanna gonna wanna do is determine when is check-in gonna be available. So we wanna start checking in thirty minutes before the start of that schedule.
Okay? So that gives people time to get there early, check-in and get to service. Also, we're gonna say too that you can check-in's gonna automatically close thirty minutes after the start. Okay. So when I pick my start time, the it's gonna check-in's gonna look at that start time and compare these two minutes to offset check-in start and end.
So then we have the category. That's just basically so you can move the category around if you wanna change that. And then the big one here is editing the schedule. Okay. So this is where you're gonna start creating your pattern.
This is what that looks . So you give it a start date and time and that's the first time this could ever happen in the start time. Now the start time again is is pretty important. You want to get this start time right because that's where those offsets are gonna work off of. And then the duration, how how long is that service?
Now the duration is important too because if, you can't check-in if you're past the duration. Now we have that setting that says, check-in will will stop working thirty minutes after the start. But in case you didn't put something there, this duration is gonna kick in also. And so whatever is the the shortest, time span will actually win. Now when you're doing, check-in, you're usually gonna be using a recurring pattern.
Right? You're not gonna be coming in here every time adding it for every every week. So you wanna use a recurring pattern. In this case, we're gonna say weekly, it's on Sunday and it has no end. We want this to go on and on forever.
And so that's basically setting this up for Sundays at 9AM. Now down here at the bottom, have this exclusion. So if there's a specific day or date range that you're not gonna be meeting, , maybe your church takes a weekend off occasionally to do service projects or perhaps there's a special, , holiday that you wanna put in for your specific check-in type, you can add these exclusions. Okay? So that you don't have to come in here and make different, schedules for each one of those unique cases.
You can just actually make these exclusions to limit that. And so this is actually just showing you of of doing that exact same thing for a holiday. So you put a little date range in here. And you can have many of these so you're not limited to one. Okay.
So that's the basics of setting up your schedules.
