Let's talk about accounts. Now, we all know accounts are very important for any organization. Let's jump inside of Rock to take a look at some of the features that we have to help keep your accounts organized. Here we are on the account page. The first thing let's point out is that you can change the order of how these accounts are displayed.
We'll go up to the gear settings and click on order top level accounts. This brings us to a page where we can click and drag and order the accounts to whatever order that works for us based off of importance. And now our order has been updated. Also, can add child accounts. Click down, you can see that there's a child account to the general fund.
Let's jump inside of one of our accounts to take a look at some of these settings. We'll click Edit. In here, your general information is the name to make it active and make it public so it's viewable on your public website. You can add description settings for the public and just the general description on your internal site. Here, this is where you select if there's a parent account for this account.
You can add account types, which is defined types set up previously in your Defined Type section. You can add a different public name from your internal name. You can add this so that the campus can be specific towards this account by saying, Hey, we know that this is going to be the North Campus. Add a specific URL. You can add your GL code, which would be the same code to be able to track inside your general ledger books.
You're able to set an optional start and end date for this account and choose whether or not this is gonna be tax deductible. Now, if this is a tithing or giving type of account, it would probably be tax deductible, which is gonna be sent in giving statements for the people who are giving to this account. If it's something an event registration, then this probably won't be tax deductible, and that's why this option is here for you. When you have all your settings set up, hit save. And that's it for accounts.
