Rock U - Groups - Alternate Placements

Okay. So let's talk about the concept of alternate placements within groups. So it's often the case that you have people in an established group structure and also one of the group members can't meet anymore. So maybe something changed and they can't meet on a certain day or if it's a serving group and they wanna try something else. So they wanna basically exit that group but they might still be interested in a different group. And so alternate placements are a way of making sure that that person still is connected, isn't that the ball isn't dropped, they don't fall into a crack, but allows you to move them out of the group and into another group either temporarily or permanently. So let's look and see how they work. So if you're on a group member's record. Okay. So you've gone to the group, you've clicked the group member. There is this little button over on the right hand side. Kinda looks a boot kinda getting kicked out of the group, but, , that's that's not quite the intent. We're just trying to move them politely into another group. So you would click that button and what would come up is this modal, which basically says, okay, the current group is the ASU student group. Where should we move them to? Now, it's up to you and your processes to define, , what group they should, go to and how to train, this person on picking that group. It could be in some cases you put them into a high level group up the group tree and then someone goes in there and kind of reestablishes contact with them and and places them into the correct group. Or it might be that the person picks the correct group right from the start here and you put them right into that new group. Now, if that group member had notes, you can optionally choose whether to move those notes with them, and those notes would would then come along. So then you hit move and that process is pretty much complete. Now, you definitely as you're looking through and thinking through this process, remind yourself that you can have a workflow launch at this point. So it could be that you you put them up onto a very high level root group and then a workflow can kick off to email or notify somebody, even the person themselves. You could have it send them an email and say, hey, , let's establish what you're looking for and get some more information and then send it back to someone on the, a staff member to do that, final placement. So just know that when you hit the move, that person's moved into a group, it's not over. You could have a workflow kickoff and, continue that process, through. So those are how you can, that is how you can, use the alternate placements, to your advantage.
