So refunds within Rock. Refunds are super easy to process within Rock. The first thing you're gonna wanna do is go ahead and find the transaction that you need to refund. And then you'll see that there is this little refund button. So when you push that, it'll actually process the refund.
Let's talk, really quick. What is processing a refund look inside of Rock? So take this as an example. Up at the top, we have a transaction from Ted Decker and we know that transactions have transaction details. So that's where each of the accounts is gonna be applied to that transaction.
So in this case, they've given a hundred dollars to the general fund which is the account. Now, if we wanted to refund this transaction, what it's gonna do is it's gonna create another transaction that looks just the original except it has a negative amount. So it's kind of a contra transaction. So that's how a refund would work. It's just gonna process it through the same gateway.
It's just gonna do the negative amount of the original. And this trend this new transaction is gonna land in one of two batches. If the batch, the original batch is still open, this refund transaction will be in that original batch. If that batch is closed which is likely because batches close pretty quickly, then it will actually be placed into a new batch that has the same kind of batch name pattern. So that is how refunds work in Rock.
It's pretty basic. Once you understand just kind of how it's gonna wire up this contra transaction that really is the refund.
