So let's talk about searching for a person. Now, this is pretty basic but let's go over anyways because there's a few settings that we can actually tweak, if you'd to customize how this looks. So the first thing you'll notice at the top of Rock, there's a advanced search and so you can search by lots of different, parameters. The default though is gonna be person name. So when you enter in someone's name, probably the the the best tip I can give you is enter the fewest characters as possible. So if you're searching for Ted Decker, I would just put t space d e c and usually that's gonna get you right to him. If you get to the point where the auto complete only shows one item, just hit enter and you'll go directly to that person's profile. The reason why I say enter as few characters as possible is that there's a possibility you might mistype, there's a possibility that maybe you don't know the spelling of the name as well as you might think. And by doing as few characters as possible will, reduce the number of duplicates that you might be entering into the system. So not only would I recommend that you do that but I highly recommend you train staff to always enter as few characters as possible. Now, if you do enter a combination that where it could be more than one person, you'll go to the next screen which shows you a list of people, that match those criteria. And then from there you can pick the right one and move on to the profile page. Now one common, feature request that we get is can we make it so the name search only searches on first name? By default, if you only provide one, bit of of characters with no spaces, it's gonna assume you're searching on last name not first name. If you enter in, two segments of characters with a space in between, it'll assume you're searching on the first name space then the last name. But occasionally, if your church is small to medium size, maybe you do want to enable the ability just to search on first name. So you can do that. So let's hop into Rock and go under admin tools, then system settings. What we're gonna do is we're gonna look at these search services. So if you come in here, should be, it should be fairly obvious that these were the the different, choices at the top. So if I open up my searches, can see name, phone, email, address. So if I go to the name option, there is a parameter here, allow search by first name. And if I say yes, I can now search. If I just enter one string of characters, it'll search for first or last name when you do that. While we're in here, there's another configuration saying that you can do. You can actually reorder, the options and how they display in this drop down. So for instance, if you want to change the order of business and move it up under name, you can go ahead and do that. Just go ahead and drag that up and then this doesn't automatically, change until you refresh the page. And there you go. So it's set there.
