Rock U - Groups - Sending Group RSVP Email Requests

Now that you've enabled group RSVP for your group type and have at least one occurrence set up for the group itself, you're ready to start sending out some group RSVP email requests. Let's dive into how that's done. Sending a group RSVP email request is done the same way that you would send any other email. And so under people, we're gonna head to new communication. And just with any other communication, you'll set it up as you normally would. I'm gonna skip some of that for you. And here, after we've selected a template, we're ready to compose our email and to add to it our RSVP request. And we're gonna do that by just clicking and dragging the RSVP icon to wherever you want in the email. Once you click on the RSVP area, you'll be prompted to select the group. And so I'm gonna come down here and I'm gonna select the Gilbert group. Once you've selected the group, your next step is to select the occurrence. And if you've been watching these videos, that this 01/09/2020 occurrence is the one I just set up, so that's the one that I'm gonna pick. So right away, you should notice that this email is specific to that group and that group occurrence. So the recipients will only be responding for that group for that occurrence. Below the occurrence selection, you'll notice a button that says register recipients. And I'm gonna go ahead and click that. And you'll see it changes to registering, and now our recipients are registered. Now what does that mean? That means that we are going to be able to track the responses even for those people who haven't responded. Last but not least, we do have some advanced settings surrounding these accept and decline buttons. And there are a lot of them, and I'm not gonna go through them individually, but in summation, you can customize how the accept and decline buttons appear to the people who will be receiving the email. And so if you wanted to change accept to something confirm, you can do that. And as you can see, the preview that you see here is updated live. You can change the colors, the font face, the weight, the size, anything that you need to do. It's fully customizable. I'm gonna leave it that and go ahead and click complete. And now that we've got that set up, I am ready to send. So I'm gonna go ahead and hit send, and that's all it takes. Now that we've sent the email, all we have to do is sit back and wait for the responses to come rolling in. We can monitor those responses from the occurrences page that we looked at in previous video, and in the next video, we'll show you exactly what it is that the email recipients will see and experience when they get their email and send a response.
