Rock U - Groups - Group Details

One screen runs every group in your church. This is a super important one to know for leaders as you'll see a group's name, details, location, schedule, and much more And you'll be able to set settings on the individual groups as well. So again, this is an important one to know. Let's get right into it. So let's cover some group details on one of our special groups. And if we go to people, then group viewer, we're going to head to Alicia's group, which is the marble group. And we can see a lot of really nice details here already that tell us at a glance about this group, such as the group type. We can also see that this is a group we're following. We can also get details what's the ID of this group. Can see that the peer networks score has been overwritten, the relationship strength, this is publicly shown, then we can see the description, parent group, schedule, and the topic plus where the group meets. Then from here, you can also archive or edit the group. You can also pick security on this group or even copy it if we wanna take some of the settings from this one. But let's edit. Couple things to cover. We have the name here, of course. This group is active. We have a description, and this is nice because it might be shown publicly. Then show publicly is something you can use, for example, if you have a group that you want people to be able to use and get into, but you don't wanna advertise it such as the head pastors group or some kind of group that maybe you enter privately, then we have an image here. And this is a great thing to add because it helps attendees connect and just see the face of either someone who's leading the group, maybe what one of their meetings look , and it makes people more likely to join a group. Then the group type, this is hard coded here. When you add the group for the first time, you'll be able to select the group type, but later on it would really just be messy if you switch this group type. So we keep it hard coded, but you can switch the parent group at any point. That's just part of the hierarchy here. You can also select the campus that this is connected to, and we can pick whether this is required on the group type. Just keep in mind, there are a lot of settings that are inherited from the group type here, which is small group. We can pick whether we want to require a signed document. We can even mark this group a security role, which is really nice if we wanna do something give this group specifically security to see a certain page or certain details. So it's just a nice way to quickly create a security role. Then for peer networks, generally, when you load in, you're not gonna need to change the peer network score. It's set on the group type, but you can override it and pick a different relationship strength or you can even mess with the advanced settings here. Then RSVP, this is generally hard coded here. It's just telling us which communication we have and what the lead time is on our reminder. We also have meeting and scheduling details where we can select the meeting style. You can also add more styles here as well through the defined type. We can also pick our overall group schedule, which is important. This in this case, we're showing every week on Tuesday at 6PM this group meets. We also have the schedule. A lot of this is defined from the group type. So all we'd need to do here is come in, pick the member's home that we're meeting at and the location type, but you can select another location here as well, from something a names location or typed in address. Then for scheduling purposes, we can pick whether we wanna disable scheduling as a whole. We can hide this from the schedule toolbox and we can require member requirements for scheduling. Then this who can check-in determines whether a person must be scheduled before they can check-in. So we can say whether the schedule is not required, we can preselect a group if they're scheduled or we can pick if the schedule is required. Then additional attributes we have on this specific group based on attributes from the group type are topic, which we've set here and then small group label. So there we go. There's just a simple example of details for a group. We also have lots of group members here and we can add a new one. I'll show you what that looks . And you're immediately, pulling up this place where you can easily search for someone to add such as Noah Decker, and we can pick their role based on the roles that are available. We can pick a note. We can also select whether this person will be notified. And if they've already been notified because as they've already been added to the group, we can uncheck that and save. And if you're doing something a group sync where you have a data view synced to a group where it's adding people, as the data view gets updated and you have an entry communication and you uncheck this, the next time that job runs, this person will get notified again. That might be something an email saying welcome to this group. Then we can also pick member status and communication preference. Then if you wanna go quick and add even more people, you can click save then add. It's easy to just add people quickly to your group. Then if we come down here, we can see that Noah got added to our group here and he's a member. So that's a high level overview of group details. The detail page is command central for any single group. Once you master this, you'll know how to edit, manage, and maintain any group in just a few clicks.
