Every giver relies upon contribution statements. To make it easier for donors to get those statements, Rock has templates and easy ways to get this information, this statement to your people so that they can do their taxes properly. Okay. Contribution statements, there's two different ways to do it. You can either use the statement generator app, which we have for Windows, And I'll show you how to download that and use it in a moment or self-service one at a time. And you can get specific about what your statement actually looks . And you can give it to a group of individuals to there's so many things you can change with these statements, but let's talk about how to create the statements, generate them and more. So now we're on the homepage for Rock and we're gonna go to finance, down to financial settings, and click on contribution templates. So you can add a new template if you want a contribution statement to look a little bit different. You can pick pick which ones are active. But let's click on this statement. We get some information here. We'll click edit. There's all sorts of things the accounts that we show, currency types, the filter settings, and pledge settings, then if Lava or HTML, you can really customize these statements to either be branded to your organization to show specific information or really make them look nice. Then you can also easily add your logo here and you can add PDF settings so that when these get printed to PDF, they all look good. But this one that comes out of the box is pretty good. We're gonna hold on to it for now and let's look at some more things. So this is what it looks if you want to do self-service for contribution statements. Now what that means is right now we're on the external website. We've clicked give then giving history, and this is just on Alicia Marvel's profile. And she can see her different statements shown up here. She can easily download them for herself if she wants to get the ones that Rock has generated. And we have different accounts shown here. She can even look at other history, but what's most important is if you click on one of these, it will actually pull up using the template, the contribution statement and then she she can print this for herself if she wants, all kinds of things she can do with this. But we'll head back and move on to the next way to do it. You can actually do that same thing internally. Say the way you do this process where you send out contribution statements is manual and you want to just one by one reach out to donors and be able to send them their statements, you can go to their profile and on the sidebar here under giving configuration, you can see their actual contribution statement showing up here. Now let's go to the other method for getting contribution statements and that is the generator app. So what we'll do to get this app is we'll go to admin tools, up to settings and start typing in external, click on external applications, and you're going to want to click download to get the Rock statement generator app and go through the different steps. You can use this to generate contribution statements for either a single person or all persons for a specified date range, then you can get PDFs to print or mail. Now we're looking at the actual app pulled up here. It's been downloaded and we're just gonna put in our credentials here and log in and there's gonna be a couple things to step through. We're not gonna go super in detail here. Our documentation covers exactly what all these settings mean, but we can see here it says in order to assemble your statements, we need to gather some information. We'll start and we can pick who we want to generate the statement for. It can be all individuals with transactions or pledges. And if you pick that, you can select whether you want to include businesses or exclude inactive individuals. You can also pick a data view if there's a specific group of people that you want to print these statements for or if you just wanna do a single individual, you can do that as well. Now the nice thing about this application is that it uses your machine and it can run all of this generation in the background, making it more efficient whereas if this was on web, it would be pretty slow. We'll click next. It shows the templates that we have available here. Rock default we've picked. We can pick the date range that we wanna print statements for. We'll click next and individual statements. Here we can get specific about what we want these to look . We can even save the statements for individuals and we pick how we want this to be stored on their records as documents. And that would just be found in the documents tab, but you can skip this if you'd or you can go through and just be specific about what you want this document to look and which records you wanna save it on. Now report settings, these determine how statements will be combined to form reports and this allows you to for yourself, for internal purposes, you can combine reports for things zip code, page count, last name, or more. And there's some more settings here. Then whenever you're ready, you simply click generate statements and it will start for you, but we're not really gonna do that right now. And this is it. You've seen the two different ways that you can get statements for people. You can either pull them straight from a person's profile, you can get specific about the templates that you want, or you can even use the Rock statement generator app to do this in bulk. Clean contribution statements build trust with your attendees and make sure that you save some time so that instead of making a bunch of phone calls, you have one clean template and Rock will help you handle the rest.
