Connection requests pile up quietly and the quiet ones are how people fall through the cracks. So using status automation, you can move connections through a flow without having to worry about them. Rock will do the automation for you. Let's talk about how to get it set up right now. First, let's make our data view. So we'll go to tools and data views, and we'll use this data view to pick what group of people are having a status automation basically happen. So what we'll do is I've got one set up already under foundational views, move connection request to in progress. And I'll edit it to show you how simple it is. Basically, all I did is you make sure that it applies to a connection request. That's very important. That's what will allow this data view to show up. And then we'll click on the filter type. All I did is I picked related data views and I picked people matched to the requester. So what this is gonna do is take this data view I selected, people 35 and older, and see if the requester is 35 and older, then we'll connect this to a status and get them moved. So I'll click save here, and now we're going to go to our actual connections. So go to people, down to connections, and we'll go to our settings, and we'll go to the involvement connection type and edit it. Now you'll click on statuses in the sections or simply scroll down there. And we'll say that this applies to people in the no contact section. So I'll edit this status and we'll head down. There's quite a few things you can change on the status, but we're going to add a status automation, of course. We can call this move to, and let's move them to in progress. Say move to in progress, 35 year olds. And we'll pick the data view. We've just got one here, so that's easy decision. And when it comes to group requirements, if we're moving someone into a group, we can pick whether we want to ignore group requirements, they must meet group requirements, or does not meet group requirements. And we'll say that we're moving them to in progress, and we'll simply save the automation. Now we've got it set up. We'll save the connection type, and now we'll head back to connections. I'm going to go to the board view for involvement because it will just make it easy for you to see. We've got Jim Simmons here. Jim is 37 years old and we want to get him moved to in progress. So you might wonder why this hasn't run yet, but this runs using a job or whenever you go edit someone's profile and, it's registered that this automation should happen, it will happen. So now I'm over at jobs administration and I can run this job now. And it started and it's going to, just start this automation. It will see who needs to be automated. Now I'll just refresh this. You'll see that it ran and four connection requests were updated. We're only looking for one, but now I'll refresh this and you'll see that he's not in no contact anymore. In fact, he's where we want him to be. You actually can't see him here because we need to change our filters. We'll make sure we show everyone here. Then coming down, there is the 37 year old Jim Simmons. He's been moved into in progress and now he's in a future follow-up state. So we were able to use automations to get something done. Now your connections can stay up to date without a manual sweep. Rock will surface the things to your team that need attention, and you save some time.
