Rock U - Content Management - Content Library

Writing every piece of content from scratch is a big ask for a small team. Rock changes that with the content library. The content library has hundreds and hundreds of well vetted articles from other organizations and churches that are ready for you to use and download into your content channels. You can also upload your best work to the content library and start sharing content with other churches. Let's get into how to set it up right now.
To get started with a content library, head first to admin tools, then click content channels. And we're gonna look at the website blog that we have set up. Now with the content library, there are two different things you can do. You can either download articles from it and receive the benefit of all these great articles written by the community in your own content channel, or you can upload content that you have to our library and this helps out the community as well. So if you want to download from the content library, it's really simple.
Head to this icon and click on it in the content channel that you're interested in having new content for. And now we're in the library viewer, and we can click through all these different articles. And to find articles that are more relevant to you, you can easily sort or filter and find articles that are interesting to you. We can look at the newest published or the most downloads, organizations, and more, but let's go find one we . Say that this article is one we're interested in, we've read through it, and it makes sense to us.
Click download article, and this is the dialogue that you'll get. So you can immediately make this active if you'd , but you can pick whatever the active date would be for this item in your content channel. Then you can pick the status, whether you want it to be pending, approved, or denied once you hit download. Then this is important to comply with our license. You pick whether you're willing to comply with the terms of our open license, then we'll click download.
Now I'm going to head back to the content channel, and you can see already you it says redownload and refresh, meaning we have the latest version of this content in our content channel. Now heading back, we can see that article that we just downloaded, and it's just as it was. Now let's look at what it takes to upload something you have to the library. So if you see, this library section, you can tell whether something's been uploaded, whether you want to redownload something if the content's been updated in the content library, or you can update something that you've already sent. So we haven't yet submitted this for the content library.
Here's what it looks . If you click upload, it says, are you sure you would to upload the item? Then it says the title of this item, and it says this will be shared with open license. You may be wondering how we even got this to pop up in the first place. That's because you need to first enable it on the content channel.
So we'll click edit. Then if you scroll, there's a section called content library. And when you first add a content channel, it won't yet have enable library for this channel checked. But now we've done that. We've picked the license open.
And if you have attributes to line up to these things, that's great. If not, you'll wanna create some. But these essentially help fill in important information what is the summary of this item that you wanna post to the content library, who is the author, and what is the image. And there's three different licenses. If you want a more in-depth understanding of what these licenses do, you can click on this link, but the open license allows anyone to edit the item that you add to the content library and they won't need to attribute your name or organization to it.
So that's really helpful if you wanna make this item accessible. Author attribution means for someone to use this, they first of all can't change the content and they'll need to make sure that they attribute, whatever they post to the author that wrote this. Organization attribution is just a step up. You'll need to attribute to the organization that posted this and if applicable, if the author is shown, also attribute it to the author so you can't make this content your own. But once you save, you'll be able to upload anything in your library to the content library.
And back to this example, you can click upload. And in this case, we didn't have the topic or the experience level filled out, meaning it didn't send. And we can see that here. We'll wanna fill these out before we send it. But once you have everything picked here, we'll save it.
And here we go. It's been uploaded to the content library. Now it's time for the Spark team to review it and, pick whether or not it's approved, then it will be available for anyone to use and download. The content library means you never have to start from a blank page alone. Go look at the library today, see what content you could download to your channels, and think about some ways that you can share content with the Rock community so we can all make it easier for each other.
