Imagine a mission trip is coming up and everyone needs to rally their own support. Using a fundraising group, you can manage the people, the contributions, and where people are at in their goals to make tracking easy. Fundraising groups are super extensible and they can be used for any sort of fundraising, but I'm gonna show you an example of a mission trip. So if we head to people, then to the group viewer, out of the box, we have fundraising groups type and we have this category here, and I've actually already created some fundraising groups. You can do that by clicking plus and adding a child to this selected fundraising group. Let's look at the China mission trip group. So this has already been set up. It's public and it's the right group type. And there's a couple things over here that I'll mention in a moment. We can see some details real quick about what this trip is about, a description, the opportunity type and much more, but let's click edit and I'll tell you about some important info here. Now, if we scroll up top, we have a description and we've decided to show this publicly, which is important for the sake of this example, because I wanna show you what this looks on the external site. Then we can do all kinds of things. It's really a group in a lot of ways if you've added groups before, but there are some special attributes for this group that will help you change things such as you can set an individual fundraising goal, you can pick an opportunity type and you can get really specific. You can add other types if you'd , but we're just gonna do a trip for now. You can pick an update content channel. I'll show you what that is soon, but you're basically picking a content channel that you can add items to that update people that are either keeping tabs on what this trip is about, for example, or for people that are playing a part in this trip so they can see what's going on with it. You can allow people to comment on it. Here you'd give an instance ID for a registration if you want to connect this with a an event registration so that people can sign up for the trip. Then there's some more things whether you should allow an individual to disable contribution requests or edit the fundraising goal. You can also cap the fundraising amount. You can pick an account that this money is going to, when donations should be done, and whether this is shown publicly. And if this should be included in lists on the public website, which we have a specific block that I'll go to in a moment. And you can pick whether this participation is by an individual or a family. Now this fundraising public section is all about what's gonna show on that block. So this should be manicured and look ready to go. We've picked the date range, the location of this opportunity, a summary, and a nice photo to cap it off plus some details and you can really structure this using HTML and more. And we have some member attributes that are inherited from the fundraising opportunity type, the fundraising goal, personal opportunity introduction, and whether you can disable public contribution requests. Then you can add more group member attributes if you'd to, but I'm just gonna click save. Then once you have that, you'll want to start adding group members and you can add a leader. When you add a leader, just keep in mind, they'll have access to the leader toolbox. So you wanna make sure that they should have access to that. I'll show you in a moment where that can be accessed. Then you can also add participants. Those are the people that are most likely fundraising. And when you add a person, you can pick their name and then you'll be filling out some attributes such as their fundraising goal, whether you can disable public contribution requests. And this is something I did for our leaders, for example, or you can do personal opportunity introduction. This is something that shows up on their personal page that's created for this member that they can send to friends and family members to help fundraise. So they can just give a little introduction to why they wanna be on this trip, for example. But we've already got some group members added here and they have different goals. Then you can also see the fundraising donations that have already happened. But let's go up here. We're gonna click on fundraising and we immediately get this view of the total goals, what percentage we are to having those goals met, and then what percentage people are at in their individual fundraising based on their goals. So Ted Decker's gotten a donation already. He's at 50%. Now let's look at the external page for this. Now we're on our external site under the connect section looking at missions and we've picked the China mission trip. And we're already getting some of those details we set up and we have some nice links to social media platforms just to make it easier to keep tabs on what's going on with this trip. And you can see we have trip details, trip updates, comments, and you can easily from here click to donate to a participant. And I'll show you what that looks in one moment. Then if the registration was open, you could click here to register, but it's too late, this registration is closed. Now here you can see trip details. We also have a content channel we picked that I mentioned earlier where you can give people updates on what's going on with this trip and you can even add public comments. You can pick who has access to add these comments, but it's just a nice way to have sort of a discussion board. Now if you wanna donate directly to a participant, you can click donate to a participant, simply pick the ones that have been listed as public here, click next, and you can straight up fill out your donation you wanna give, the campus, your information, and you can even pick if you wanna give anonymously. Now Rock will still know who gave this gift and that's for the purpose of reporting or giving givers their year end contribution statements, but you can hide from the individual that you're giving to who it is that gave them money. But let's head back to the internal page and I'm gonna show you an edge case. So sometimes what will happen is you will be given a gift and let's go to finance. Go to finance and then fundraising matching. Sometimes we'll be given a gift that you need to match with a group and a person for fundraising. So when you load up this block, you can pick any open batch or it will list all of them at once, but let's just pick one open batch. And this giving was from Ted Decker. We can say that this is going towards the China mission trip group and that this giving is for Cindy Decker. Then when we save, that money will be attributed to this person for fundraising. So it's easy to go back in time and make sure that your finances or things that people have given such as even if you were given a check, it's easy to specify where that money is going. Now let's move on to if you're logged in as one of the members of the fundraising group. So here is the China mission trip, but we're clicked on it as we're logged in as Ted Decker and things are a little bit different. We can see our personal fundraising progress and we can also see the leader toolbox. And that's because Ted has been marked as a leader. He's also a participant who's raising money. And there's gonna be different text here depending on if you're looking at this page from the person who's donating or the person who's receiving, but Ted can even make a payment to his own goal here if he'd . You can make comments and we can click on the leader toolbox to see more. I'll click on that just so you can see what it looks from a leader's perspective. Simply showing a participant list, you can click in and see how fundraising is going for people. This is especially helpful if you have a leader who isn't a staff member as you can give them security access to just this. But heading back, let's click on Ted Decker's participant page. And this is the thing that he can use to send out to people so they can give a contribution specifically to him, just making the whole process easier. And they can click on the trip page to see what the actual trip looks . They can make a payment directly to Ted and you can even copy the profile link here. And that allows Ted to send out a link directly to his fundraising profile. Now a couple block settings I wanna show real quick. You can pick, what shows up here in terms of the profile lava, progress lava template, and more. You can pick the donation page and you can select whether the clipboard icon I just mentioned shows up here. And you can also pick for when Ted is looking at the amount column for contributions, whether or not he can see the amount. So I'll show you what that is. If Ted is looking here, he'll have access to click on contributions and see contributions that have been made. And if this were showing the amount, we'd be able to see how much Alicia Marble gave to Ted. Fundraising groups make it easy to track campaigns without having to find a crowdfunding tool or even leave Rock. Create one and make it easy for people to track their progress towards their giving goals.
