Every group your ministry runs from an entire student ministry down to one small group is shown in the group viewer. It's got a nice tree view so you can easily categorize and find the group that you need to see. Let's search for a group. So one easy way to do it is click on group name in our search up here, and we can look up something Marble Group, we're taken there immediately. Now, the actual place we were taken to here is called the group viewer. So you can find that under the people section and click on the group viewer. And this is very important, you'll probably come here very often. And you'll notice if I collapse this, it's just a tree of all the different parent groups or basically categories of groups and child groups. So you can use these parent groups to actually store people or you can use them just to categorize and you can put child groups under any parent group and you can add multiple layers of hierarchy too. So I'll show you an example of that. If we click on general groups here and I click the plus button, I can either add top level, which would add another parent or I can add child to selected. And we can just call this general group number one, and we can pick whether this is active or shown publicly. Then this is important to add to the hierarchy, make sure that your parent group is what you expected. And another thing is if you add a child group to a parent group that has a specific group type, then you'll only be able to select that group type. Otherwise, if we had just added a top level group, we could pick from any one of our group types. But now I'll go and save this. And just to show you we've added to the hierarchy, and if I wanna add a child here as well, I can do that. And it's easy to just build out a nice structure here. Now, if you want to make it easier to find the group that you need, you can first of all easily search and we can type in something general and we'll be taken to this results block where we can see every group that has the word general in it, we can see the member count and more. Then I'll head back. You can also come over here and you can pick to show all or only active groups, then all or only public groups. And you can also pick to show the count for something the number of child groups. So placement groups has 16 under it, for example, or group members, and you can see the number of people in every one of those groups. So that's a helpful way to get some detail. You can also filter by campus. Then one last thing I wanna cover is if you go to the block settings for groups, you can select which group types show up and you can pick whether inactive campuses are displayed and the name of the tree view title. You can even pick a root group. So you can get really specific about what is shown here and make it easier to find the groups that you need. The group viewer is the front door to every group your organization runs, so learn the tree view and its filters. You'll never have trouble searching for a group again.
