Rock U - Check-In - Locations

In Rock's check-in system, a location is a real physical place and this is something you can tie to a group, you can tie to labels and much more, but I'm gonna show you how you can set up your locations for the purpose of check-in right now. Okay. To set up a location, it's pretty simple. We're going to head over to admin tools, then go up and click on check-in. And this is the hub for where you'll do a lot of check-in related things, but we're gonna click straight on names, locations. And you can see, first of all, we've got a campus location and it's pretty important, especially if you have multiple campuses to build out a structure for your locations. Right here, can see we have, we have a campus and we have a building. And beneath the building, we have a whole list of rooms. We also have a separate worship center, but let's focus on this building. Let's imagine these rooms are the ones that we have available for check-in. I'm gonna show you what it looks to edit one of these rooms as this where this is where you're really gonna operate. So let's look at the Bobcat's room. We'll click edit, and we have the parent location here, just basically the category this is under. And if you want to put an address in here and even verify it, you can easily do that. You can also pick the location type and you can configure what location types look . But in this case, it makes sense to have this set as a room. Rock knows this is a room. And we have other documentation and videos on devices for check-in, and that's when we'd cover what you do with this printer setting, for example, or even the beacon identifier. You can also pick an image if you want it to be easier to, kinda tell apart this room from other rooms in Rock. Then you can pick whether this location is locked to prevent verification services from updating this address. Then something important is whether a room is open or closed. So you can pick whether this room is available to be used for check-in with this active button here. We'll leave this active for now. Now, something that's really important for check-in is threshold and threshold absolute. So when you're doing check-in, if people are checking in from a device, then whatever threshold you set here, say it's four, we can only fit four children in the Bobcat's room, then people won't be able to select this room anymore from the check-in device once the threshold is reached. But if you do a manager override, you can still add people to that room. But setting an absolute threshold is that genuine maximum that you can't go over. In fact, even with a manager override, you can't add more than this number. So let's just say that it's six in this case as an example, and we'll save. And now we have this location all set up and ready for check-in. We have those thresholds set as well. Great. Now your spaces are in the system and Rock can use this information to direct people to the right rooms when they check-in. Thanks for watching this video and have a great day.
