Rock U - Check-In - Mobile Check-in Overview
Transcribed Video Content
Mobile check-in works in much the same way as standard traditional check-in methods, but it's mobile. And so the entire process is done on the person's mobile device. And so what that means is mobile check-in allows you to have a contactless check-in experience. And even the label printing part, which we'll get to later, can also be contactless. But the first thing that you'll want to keep in mind is before you can get started with any of the mobile check-in features, there's a few things that you need to already have in place.
The first thing is you'll need a Google API key, and you'll need to have your site secured with a certificate. So it'll need to be HTTPS enabled and, and not HTTP. And you'll need to have check-in configured. So your locations and check-in configuration, most of which would be standard and you might already have set up, but it does need to be able to be in place so that people can actually check-in. But for now, we're going to walk you through a little bit of the process of what a person will see.
So when you're all set up, the first thing that'll need to happen is that the person will need to identify themselves, which makes sense because if they're checking in, we need to know who they are. Once they're identified, they'll need to pick who they want to check-in, and they'll proceed with the check-in process, which you'll see is actually very similar to the traditional kiosk check-in processes. A big difference is that once they're finished, they'll be presented with a QR code that you can scan using the Rock app on an iPad and using the iPad's camera. And that QR code, once it's scanned, will print out labels. So, again, that's just a quick overview of the process, and we mentioned some of the prerequisites that you'll need to start setting it up.
We're going to dive deeper into that in the next video, which goes into the configuration. If you want to see some more of the screens and what people will be experiencing when they use it, we have a video for that as well. Otherwise, for more information, be sure and check out the checking out, check-in guide. Thanks for watching.
