A podcast series holds messages, classes hold sessions. There are some content channels that naturally nest. You can use parent child relationships to add child items to different content channel items. That will allow you to track the hierarchy and even connect related content channel items to another content channel item. But let's get past all this confusion and get into what it looks in Rock right now. To show off how this relationship works, here's a diagram showing a podcast series channel and a podcast message channel. So here there's two layers of hierarchy. We have our Moneywise podcast series channel. Then beneath it, we have items from the message channel, which are of faith and firsts and of myths and money. Then we're doing the same thing with parables in Luke. So you're really picking items from a channel and you can nest items from another channel beneath it. And there can be more layers to this hierarchy if you want, but generally you only need two. This is how to actually set it up. From the homepage, we'll go to admin tools and then content channels. And from here, we're just gonna go to our podcast series. And when we click into the podcast series, we can edit this series. And you'll notice there's a section over here that says child content channels. When you click plus, you can simply add a channel. We have messages here, then you'll go and save. Now once we have this child, channel, all we're gonna do so you can see what it looks for staff is let's go to tools and content, then we'll go to podcast series. When we click in here, we can see the different items and let's click on money wise. And when we actually go into one of these items, unlike before, you can actually add items because of the way that we have it configured. So we'll scroll to the bottom and you'll see related content channel items, and these are child items. We've added two, those ones you saw earlier, and you can launch a workflow on these or you can add a new one. And it either looks straight up adding a complete new item from that content channel or you can select another existing item that's in that content channel. So we've got a lot of options here, But if you went to add new item and clicked add, and if you were to go through this process, set up this new item, give it all the attributes, and if you were to click save, then if we went back to the Moneywise item, we would have a new child item added here. Parent and child items make it easy to build these rich hierarchies where you can have things classes and sessions and message series without having to duplicate any content.
