Imagine your data view found the kids, but what you really needed was their parents. Post filter transformation allows you to do that exactly, taking a relationship in Rock and you can flip results in a data view. For example, you can switch to a person's spouse or their children, parents, the head of household, and much more making data view simpler and making it easier to get the information that you need. To do a transformation, we first need to understand it. So it's simple. In this case, we're looking at children in a grade range. And if you use a transformation such as one of the most common ones, which is parents, we'll end up getting the adults to reach rather than those children we were initially filtering on. Let's look at how to do it in Rock. So I've got a data view pulled up that already has that post filtered transformation of parent transform. And if we go to edit this, you'll be able to see how we set it up. The data view applies to person, and we pick the transformation of parents. So you'd expect us to get people with the age classification of child, but if we actually preview the results, you'll see that instead of getting those children, we got parents, and you can see their age classification here. And Rock is simply using, different known relationships such as allowed check-in, children, father, head of household, mother, whatever it may be. And it's doing a transformation, finding that known relationship, and giving you the exact record that you actually need. Transformations let one data view answer a question about people related to the results you got. So you can turn a list of children into a list of adults with ease.
