Rock U - Event & Calendar - Registration Discounts
Transcribed Video Content
Stop doing discount math by hand manually. Rock will allow you to create a discount. That's either a fixed amount or a percentage, and you can even pick exactly who qualifies for it. So let's create a discount code, go to tools then down to event registration, and we're gonna click on our summer camp template. Then we'll edit it as we needed to change something here.
We're going to scroll and you'll see fees here, but it's actually under discounts. We've already got one created called staff, and it's pretty simple. If you type in this code, you get a 50% discount. We're gonna go add a new one though, and let's just call this one early. And there's quite a few things we can change here.
Let's talk through them. So you can pick whether you want the discount type to be an amount, and then it would just be a dollar amount that you remove from this fee, or it can just be a percentage. And let's say all the early birds get 25% off and you can pick whether this discount is auto applied or whether they need to type it in. We'll do an auto apply because this is for everyone that does it early. And, this is pretty simple.
You can pick how this code is limited either if you do it a maximum number of times or as in if someone if this has been used 10 times, it can no longer be used or maximum number of registrants. So after 20 registrants, let's say, we're no longer giving out the early code. Then you can also do minimum registrants. And this is if you want to hand out some kind of code that applies to people after a certain number. Now you can also pick effective dates, which is a simple way to limit when this code is available, but we're gonna save it with these parameters.
And now this should be attached to all of our summer camp instances, and we're going to go sign up for this instance. So here we're signed in as Alicia Marble. I'm gonna skip through this process. Okay, now we got to the end of our registration and you can see that we have this alert here telling us that your 25% discount code for all registrants was successfully applied. And we didn't even need to type this in and apply it.
Rock did it automatically for us because we've configured it that way. And you can see here's our original amount, then our discounted amount once we take off that 25%. Now I'm just going to go through this, make a payment, and I'm gonna show you how we can track these sort of discount codes, see who used them, see the amount that was applied and more. So this is done. We've registered Brian Jones.
Now we're heading back to our instances. We'll click on summer camp twenty twenty seven. We can see that Brian Jones just, just was registered for this event. If we click in, there's a section up here called, payments, and we can see the amount, it's less than expected and then discount percentage 25%. We can also see the discount code early.
And now we know that, we actually got a discount on this registration. If you go into edit, you can pick different codes if someone wasn't meant to use a certain code, for example, or if the percentage is off and you can even pick the discount amount per registrant here, but exactly what discounts were applied to who. Discounts let you run promotions while Rock handles the math and the tracking of it automatically. Set it once and you don't have to worry about it again.
