Maybe the report you just created reveals some sensitive information that you don't want everyone to see. And the data you get back from reports doesn't respect security in the same way it's respected in other places in Rock. So we'll talk about the easiest ways to secure your reports. To make sure everything is secured right, let's look at this diagram which breaks down security. First of all, you can have security on viewing the data view. And when you use that security button, you can say that this person can view it, this person can't, and this is just based on whether the information in that data view is sensitive. Then if you wanna pick data filters that people have access to when creating a data view, you can do that by going to our settings and then looking for data filters, and you can set security on those individual filters such as if there's one that has to do with giving and you don't want that information to be shown, you can lock it down. You can also do the same with data transforms, which are, for example, if you're outputting a list of parents and you wanna transform, that list to a list of their children, you can do that. And if you want to pick which transforms aren't available to certain security roles or users, you can do that under our settings in data transforms, then you really shouldn't forget this. On reports, even if someone doesn't have access to see certain information in Rock such as finances, then they can still see the report as long as they have view security for it. When you create a report, just think about who should be able to access and view that report, then make sure to lock it down so just the right people can see it. Good reporting security means the right people get answers and the wrong people don't see information that they shouldn't see. Build the habit of setting the right security on every report that you create.
