Registration communications, giving receipts, and even password resets. These are all communications that Rock sends for you quietly behind the scenes. But you'll want to look into them, make sure they look what your organization would send, and learn what the merge fields mean so that when Rock is quietly sending a communication, you're confident what's being sent reflects your organization. To access system communications, you'll start by going to admin tools, up to settings, and then start typing in system communications, click on it, and here we are. Now you can see there's a pretty big list and nearly every system communication you use is gonna come out of the box as they're tied different thing things such as a communication approval email, expiring credit card notice, form submission result.
There's all sorts that Rock attaches to different features. And you can set security on these. You can even click here to see exactly what this communication would look with a target person so that you can see with the lava, everything that, how it would end up playing out. Here's an example. We just picked, Ted Decker, and you can click send test, and then you would get this actual system communication sent to them.
You can even see what it looks on mobile, but we're gonna head back here. Now when you're dealing with a system communication, you're usually gonna come in, click on it, and you can see the title and category. Rock categorizes just to make it simpler for you, And you can pick message details if you want some to be persistent, the from name, address, to address, even the CC or BCC list. Then the subject, you can add as well. And then it's really easy to, first of all, see again what this would look on different devices, then you can go straight to the code and actually edit the communication.
So in this case, we've got a global header and footer. And just to make this easier for you as well, Rock stores this as a global attribute so that you can change it in one place and then it will be used across your different templates. Of course, you can make your own new headers and footers if you'd , or you can edit our current one. That's the best method. Then it's easy to change the content of what comes in this message using things Lava and HTML.
You can even add Lava fields. And we have a little bit of documentation so you can see how easy it is to add your logo to a communication. Then if this communication is being sent over SMS or a push notification as well, you can easily edit those things here. When you're done editing a communication, you click save here. There you go.
It's also very simple to add a new one. You click plus here and it will look very similar to that editing we did earlier. System communications are your church's automatic system communications are your organization's automatic voice. So remember, a little bit of a polish goes a long way as these get sent out a lot and you want them to sound your organization's voice.
