Rock U - People - Bulk Updates

Editing records one at a time stops scaling the moment you need to make the same change to a 100 people. Bulk updates turns what would be a full afternoon of clicking into just a couple minutes. You can select a set of people and change things attributes, connection statuses, notes, and a lot more all at once. I'll show you how easy it is to make a bulk update in Rock. A quick example is we'll type Decker into the person search and we get back a grid of people. We can select whoever we want and then we can go to the ellipsis up here, click bulk update. Wherever you see this truck, you can run a bulk update and then you have lots of options. But let's do this in a different spot. If we go to the group viewer, we can pick whichever group we want. And again, we have a person grid here so it's easy to just launch a bulk update. I'll pick here and now we can quickly change things on this entire group. Something I wanna point out first is you might wonder why we have a checkbox for different fields. That's because if you were to pick one of these and enter nothing, we'd update this field to have nothing in it for every single person. And that's something you might wanna do if you wanna clear out a title for example. So we can do that. We can say we wanna remove everyone's title here. And there's so many different fields we can change on a person, even communication related fields preferences. What I can do here is I can even update my following in relation to these people if you want to follow a lot of people. And something super nice is you can quickly update attributes. So there's a lot of different attributes for people here showing up. And say you quickly wanna show that everyone today got baptized in this group, you can do that. And there's much more. You can say things first visit, all sorts of attributes that come in Rock and that you create. Then you can quickly add a note to each individual and a note will be added when this text has a value here. You can even pick the note type you wanna use, whether it's an alert or private. Then really nice for groups, you can either add people to a group, remove them or update their status within the group. So let's say we wanna add everyone in this group to the Decker group and we wanna give all of them a group role of member and we wanna say they're all active. Then you can add tags to all of them. Let's say everyone in here is gonna be a summer camp leader. Then you can also add, remove or update steps making it easy to track people's engagement. But we'll click next. It will give us a summary of everything we're trying to do and who we're updating. We're clearing a title, adding to following, adding to the Decker group and the summer camp leaders tag is being added as well. So we'll click confirm and it takes very little time for Rock to make these updates. Now let's just go to the Decker group so I can show you that this worked. Go to the group viewer, Decker group, and there we go. Now all those people recently got added that were in Alicia Marbles group and we made a bunch of changes quickly and easily. A change that would have taken all day is done in minutes. Bulk updates takes the busy work out of updating records.
