that people still send checks for giving and when you get that paper check, you need it to be digitized and go into the right financial accounts. Rock has a really nice way to match checks to people's person profiles so that you can track history and report properly. So this is what the process looks for check scanning in Rock. And something I want to mention is that we support any check scanner that has the Ranger API, but we specifically recommend the Canon CR series. Now you start with scanning. So the check scanning app, I'll show you how to download it, but if you want details on the setup, I suggest you read our documentation on the check scanning app. Then once check scanning has happened, the check scanning app will automatically batch up those checks for you. And from there, it will be easy to match those checks with specific people. Now let's look at how to download that app. You'll go to admin tools, up to settings, and then you'll start typing in external, click external applications, and then download the ROCCECK scanner. Now again, once checks have been scanned, they'll go into batches. So go to finance then up to batches. And here we have a batch that is still open. And if we click into it, we'll see that one of the transactions has no one connected to it and a currency type of check. If you look at this detail section here, there's a icon that says match transactions. Click this button and you'll be taken to this page. Now this page is really nice. You'll see immediately the check that's actually been scanned, some details on it, and some guesses at the amount here. This is just an example. We don't actually have Jeff Patterson in the system, but I'll show you how this works. So if you want to click this settings dial and you can pick which accounts are displayed here. You can include child accounts. You can pick campuses. You can filter accounts by the batch campus. And you can also, if a transaction already has allocated amounts through teller import, for example, should only the accounts with values be displayed by default. You can pick whether you want to limit it to existing, but we're not gonna do that. You can also add a business or a family easily here. Then something to note, this thing called a Maker which shows your your details such as your account details. Rock will remember those things. So you can assign this to a person. Usually, it's pretty easy because you can see their name. So if we were adding Jeff Patterson, we'd assign it to him here and there's all sorts of different ways to search for a person. We don't actually have Patterson, so we can assign this to Bill Marple and you can make sure all the amounts here are proper and they are the right amounts. We'll see some information on Bill Marble and his family, then you can see the transaction code and total amount. And yeah, again, Rock will remember these. So once you assign someone to this transaction in the future, Rock will automatically do the assignment for you. There's also individual here because sometimes this is pulling bank details and there will be multiple different individuals that this transaction could be assigned to and Rock doesn't want to pre fill that for you and just assume. So this allows you to select individuals And you may have a super long list here of different checks that you're matching to people. You can click next to just advance through this menu. And note, you can have multiple people doing this at once to make the process go faster and Rock will make sure that you're not overriding people's changes. This is a nice streamlined way to match checks to real people and make sure every transaction has a name on it. Matching checks properly keeps each giver's record accurate. So in just a few minutes, can turn a batch of paper checks into a nice batch and Rock.
