A person's profile can hold hundreds of facts, but usually your staff only need to see a handful at a glance. And that's what badges do for you. They sit at the top of the person profile and you can customize and see exactly what is important to you, whether it's if someone has completed a background check or how long they've been attending. Okay. To add a new badge, head to admin tools then up to settings. Start typing in badges and click on that. Now there's quite quite a few out of the box that are really gonna be helpful already, such as showing things your personality assessment results, your connection status, group requirements, campus, family, attendance, their sixteen week attendance, baptism and in serving team. So adding a new one is really simple, but let's look at some we already have. And one thing I wanna note before that is if you have a badge that is showing sensitive information, you can secure it actually to make sure that people won't see information that they shouldn't see. Anyways, there's a couple different types and there's a couple different components. So you can add badges for groups, for people, but components change what's actually shown. So when you're adding a new one, badge type will pop up, lots of options for you. You can associate it specifically with a personality assessment, with even an alert note, with giving, all these different things. And you can use qualifiers for giving, for example, a qualifier could be something a giving record ID or and you could use that and you could use a qualifier value so that only certain types of giving information is shown on this badge. And it's even allowing us to pick accounts, a date range, and then get specific about the Lava template. So the Lava template is actually gonna change the style of what's shown. And I'll show you what that looks in a moment. Then for an entity type, you can really pick any one and you can use badge blocks to just show these badges. But it's actually a lot simpler to start from a badge that's already been created. So let's look at an example. The first one is the in serving team badge. It's using an entity type of person and an in group of type badge type. And all this is doing is going to the group type checking if this person is in that group type using the actual icon for that group type and a badge color, then we can display that on a person's profile. And it's always nice to add a description so that people know what this badge is for. In this case, it's showing whether a person is in a serving team. So it's really simple and you can do this without any code for any sort of group type. Now Lava, this is the most extensible option that will allow you to create really specific nice badges. And it looks similar right off the bat with this configuration. Then you come into the display text and it's it's really simple. So we've picked an attribute. It's been assigned here and this is just a person attribute of baptism date. And we're using some lava and some HTML. And we're even picking when you hover over it, what's shown. So it'll tell you the person's nickname and it will say was baptized on baptism date. Then it's using an icon here. This is, just a Font Awesome icon. You can use Tabler icons, any icons you have loaded for your site. Then we have this specific HTML class that you can use to make things simpler. And it will basically make the badge look disabled if a person hasn't been baptized or it will have a view where it's it's clearly true. this person's been baptized. The badge will look blue in this case. And you can also enable debugging if you wanna go to a profile for example, and you want to see what comes out to make sure that you have the information you need such as the attribute down so that you can create a nice badge. So I suggest if you're ever gonna add a new attribute, it's easy to start with one you already have, and you can just simply change what the attribute is in the lava here and change the icon and you're basically there. And let's actually look at an example. So I'm on Ted Decker's profile and up top we have this bar and it's showing things all of our different personality assessments and it's highlighting the ones that have been taken. Using the tool tip, we can actually see scores for all the different assessments. We can see the external website visit badge, the first visit, and family attendance over the last sixteen weeks. Then we can easily see this baptism badge, we just saw exactly how that's set up. Really simple and nice, easy to change. And then we can see the inner group of type. So we can see that Ted is on the serving team. He's on a serving team and multiple serving teams are listed here. So you saw how easy it is to create those badges. If you wanna pick what's shown here, you can go to the block configuration for this badges bar and you can add this badges block anywhere you . And in this case, of course, we're using the person badges and we've picked some to go in the top left, the middle, top right, and the bottom right as well. And it's super simple. Now we have this really nice way to see information that's relevant to us at a glance. Badges turn a crowded profile into a dashboard. Pick the couple that your team uses the most and you will be able to tell what's going on with a person at a glance.
