Web based self check-in, also known as mobile check-in, is a really great way to decentralize your check-in. So rather than having a bunch of different kiosks where you're worrying about networking and hardware, people can check-in using their phone, whether they're logging in to your site or just using a phone number lookup. So it's a really great way to do check-in. Let's look at what it takes to get it set up right now. Okay. To use web based self check-in, there's a few different things to configure. First of all, we'll go to admin tools up to check-in and we are going to make a device. I actually already have it set up here, but basically it's just called virtual mobile main campus kiosk. If I click into it, it's pretty simple. We've picked a device type of check-in kiosk. Then we've added a geofence. So this is important. You're going to want to have a Google API key set up. We have documentation on how to do this explaining how to get that set up. And that will allow us to, first of all, create a geofence around what we consider our campus. Then you'll be able to track locations to make sure someone is within that geofence. And with that being said, you're going to want to make sure that your site is secured using a certificate, meaning that you have an HTTPS connection. And that will allow us to stay secure as information location is passed back and forth. Then we pick print using device printer and we select print from client. Then we've decided to make the kiosk type iPad. I'll show you, in a moment. This isn't really that relevant here. We've done most of the setup we need. One other thing to do though is to pick locations, and this is gonna be the location associated with that geofence. So we're just gonna call it main campus, though you could get more specific and add different areas here, though it's much easier to handle it this way just by picking your entire campus. So let's save. Now something else we wanna do is go to a specific page. So we'll go to admin tools, settings, and we'll look for pages. Then this will come out of the box in Rock, go to external homepage, down to support pages, and click on mobile check-in launcher. This block here is really important. You'll wanna make sure it's here for this experience to work. But, basically, a few things we can configure here. If we click on the settings, first of all, we'll pick the enabled device. That's very important, of course, because, this is the actual device we're gonna be using for check-in that includes the geofence. Then you can pick a theme. By default here, it'll just be the next gen check-in theme. Check-in configuration, we can pick what check-in configuration we're using for this mobile check-in and which areas are available. You can also select to disable location services, and this will allow people to instead select from a list of campuses, but you can more easily, have people check-in if you have location services on and it's automatically checked for them. Now, another thing to check is the block properties here. We can pick to disable the QR code and this will mean after check-in, no barcode is shown. That barcode is shown for, or that, sorry, that QR code is shown for the purpose of allowing you to print labels using an iPad. But if that isn't relevant for you, you can disable the QR code. You can also pick whether you want to select all schedules automatically. We can select the login page and phone identification page as these are the two different options that you will get when you are doing check-in. Then there's a lot of different texts that you can pick here to match this with your organization, whether it's the language or something else. You can even include Lava. And this is for all sorts of scenarios that someone might come up against such as you can't determine the location, no devices found, no people, no campuses, but we're gonna save with what we have here and let's actually simulate this check-in. So I'm on a phone that hasn't been identified yet. I can pick between a phone lookup or logging in. Phone lookup is a great efficient way to do check-in. So I'm gonna enter Ted Decker's phone number here, click lookup. And after this, our SMS sender is going to send a six digit confirmation code. Okay. And we've entered the code here. I'll just click next and we pick which individual. This only shows up if multiple people have the same phone number. I'm gonna pick Ted. And from here, we actually wouldn't see this admin configuration bar generally, but Ted is an administrator. We'll click to log in, it's just gonna ask for location and it's gonna determine our location. I've removed that bar, then we'll click check-in and it's gonna look just any other check-in on a kiosk where we can select the people we wanna check-in, click next. We pick the areas that we want to check them into. When that's done, you'll see achievement status and more, and then we actually have a code at the bottom. That's super nice. When we click done, we have access to this code that we can use to scan and get any label. And note, if you go check-in additional individuals for this check-in, then you'll actually keep the same QR code, but we'll add more data so that when you scan, more labels will be printed. Now let's go back and I'll show you exactly what it looks to scan this with our iPad app. This is very simple. On the iPad, it will look you're using the kiosk. You'll just click the scan barcode button. Once you do that, you can hover over a phone, its QR code, it will scan, and then it will send that label print to the device that you have set up. Self check-in now works from any browser, no kiosk required. So people can verify themselves once, and then it works just as if they were using the kiosk, but it's easier for you and your team.
