Rock U - LMS - Assign Activity Retakes
Transcribed Video Content
Most people have had to retake an assessment or two in their time. And it's really nice to be able to offer that to people. In the LMS, you can pick a retake threshold so that if someone scores below a certain amount, Rock will automatically reassign that assessment to them, or you can allow facilitators to assign a retake as well. Let's look at how to do that in LMS right now. I'm logged in as Frank Dexter, and I'm on an activity where I'm waiting for grading to happen.
I'll show you later how I can get the opportunity to retake this assessment. Let's head to the internal Rock page. Okay, so I'm gonna go to people down to learn, and I'm gonna find that activity that we just saw and I know exactly where it is. So here we're in the first aid and emergency response course. And just something to note real quick is the types that you can assign retakes for are assessments, file uploads and point assessments.
Those are graded. So we can give out retakes there. Let's click into the quiz. You'll see that Frank took it. We can see that down here.
It says requires scoring, but we're gonna edit this quiz. And this is the first way to allow retakes. It's easiest for you because Rock will do it automatically. So you set a threshold and if someone scores below this amount, then once the grading is done, Rock will automatically send out the retake to that person that missed this score. The second way is if we click into one of these, which needs grading, you'll see we get the opportunity to score and such.
Let's say Frank got a one out of five on this. Then all we need to do is click assign retake. When you click save, a retake will be sent to Frank. So he's not shown here right now. And I'm gonna show you what communication goes out once we send out a retake.
It looks this. It's a system communication. It says something you did not receive a passing grade on, then it says the name of the activity. A retake has been assigned. Please complete the activity below to receive credit, and you're linked to it right here.
We are back to Frank's view here. I'm just gonna refresh and you'll see we actually have some prerequisites to get back to that quiz because we didn't complete things in order here, but that quiz is no longer marked as complete. We can take it again and see what grade we get. Retakes keep students moving instead of stuck with bad grades. Let Rock do the assignment for you or you can manually step in when a grade needs your judgment.
