Rock is designed to scale with your organization, and experience mode is a great example of how we do that in our product. Now when you start up Rock, you're gonna get to choose between trailblazer mode and essentials mode. Essentials mode is a streamlined interface without some advanced configuration that may be overwhelming to certain teams, whereas trailblazer mode gives you full access to advanced configuration. Let's get into what this looks in Rock and how to set it up. Imagine this is your first time loading into Rock.
This block right here is an example of what you'd see. And this block is giving you the option to pick between the essentials or trailblazer mode for your organization. Now it has a brief description here of each of these modes so that you have confidence in the decision that you're making. But once you click save, you'll notice that the block just disappears. But you don't have to be worried about that because if you ever wanna change the mode that you're in, all you have to do is go to admin tools, settings, then look for system configuration.
You'll see a picker that lets you choose your experience mode. So let's say I wanna switch out of essentials, very easy, I just save and now my entire organization has a different experience mode. Now I wanna give you an example of something that looks different in Rock depending on the mode that you're in. We'll find that by going to admin tools, settings, and looking for group types. Now group types definitely isn't the only example of this, but it's a great one.
So right now I'm looking at the small group group type. You'll notice this picker in the top right here, and you can actually toggle between the mode that you're viewing here. And this isn't changing it for your entire organization. This is just for the block that you're on now. So for example, look at this list of sections.
If we switch to essentials mode, there's less sections and there's actually a bit less detail for settings that you have to change. And that's because if you're in trailblazer mode, you're likely doing more advanced configuration. But if you're in essentials mode, you want a more simplified view where you don't have to worry about advanced configuration. Thank you for watching this video on experience mode and Rock, and don't forget that your mode is something you can change at any time, and some organizations might feel more comfortable in trailblazer mode, some might feel more comfortable in essentials mode. It's ultimately up to you.
