Tracking long term generosity takes a different set of tools than what it takes to track one time gifts. Now pledges allow you to track this commitment to different funds or to different campaigns over a period of time. Let's see what this looks in Rock right now. Let's look at how pledges can be entered in Rock, how we can add them internally and even the analytics for pledges. So right now we're looking at our external website and we're actually looking at the create pledge block. We've named it create pledge, but it's actually the pledge entry block. And on this block, an attendee can choose to enter a pledge, and they can pick their pledge amount too. So this is the amount of money that is going to be paid out over this time, then you can save. And it also thanks this person for the pledge they've given because this is a really important contribution. We're gonna go back to the homepage in Rock, and I'm gonna show you how we can look at pledge analytics and add pledges internally. So start by hovering over the finance icon, and we'll click pledges right here. Now you can immediately see that pledge that Alicia Marvel just entered, which is me. I'm Alicia Marvel. So there you go. But it's really easy to search through these pledges that have already been committed to or filter on active pledges because this might show some historical pledges and you can really quickly sort and then filter on these columns as well. Then you can get an idea of based on the different accounts that have been pledged to, what total you're gonna end up with with all these pledges right here. Now if you're adding a pledge internally, there's many different things you can configure. Let's add a pledge for mister Decker, Ted Decker. And as I'm pulling up the accounts here, one important thing is we have a pretty simplistic list of accounts here. But to make accounting easier for you regarding pledges, it's best practice to have a different account for different years generally. So say someone has pledged to the general fund and this pledge ended six years ago and they wanna pledge again this year, well, will make your accounting a bit complicated and it'll be just hard to track internally what pledges have looked . So it's good to pick an individual account usually by year for it just makes accounting easier with these pledges. Then you can pick the date range. So let's say Ted is giving from February 1 and he's actually already finished his, pledge cycle, and he was giving twice a month. There's so many different payment schedules you can pick from here depending on how this person wants to pledge. Then the total amount it's gonna end up giving is $250, and that will be to our building fund. We'll click save, and immediately, we see that pledge reflect right here. Now this is a nice way to view pledges right now, but in case you have many different people that have pledges or you wanna see some more complex analytics, go hover over finance, go down to pledge analytics. Now there's so many different ways you can filter here. You can pick specific accounts, pledge date range, such as the current year, and you can separately also pick the giving date range because we know that people will sometimes pledge to give during a specific time, but they end up actually giving on a different date. And this will allow you to pick up discrepancies in that and be really specific about the information you're getting here. So we're looking at pledges from the current year with a giving date range of the last three years. You can also pick between pledge amounts, the percentage of the pledge that's complete. So say they're giving once a month for four months and they've given it for two months, they'd be at 50% complete. Then the amount given in total, you can also pick to show only those with pledges, only those with gifts, or those with gifts or pledges. That means that people may have given outside of their pledge. If they gave outside of their pledge, that's a gift. But we're gonna show both of those an update. And nice. We get a great view of the actual amount we've gotten. And one thing I wanna highlight is also you may notice that businesses can pledge as well. So it's not always just people in Rock that can commit to pledges. You can quickly search through this list and you can even select and you can take actions such as communicating with these people, many other quick actions as well. You can filter on these columns and you can see the percentage complete, and it can definitely go over a 100%. Because in this case, Ted has been giving for a lot longer than his pledge, or or he has been giving for a long time on this pledge. He's given a 118 times, and he's way over his limit. So that's a a good blessing there. But you can easily see all these different pledge analytics to see how people are giving in your organization. I bet by the end of this video, you've thought about a way that you can start using pledges to track long term giving commitments in your organization. I suggest you hop and Rock and try it out.
