Giving analytics is a powerful tool within the financial features of Rock to do reporting on giving. Now there's a lot of other reporting tools you could bring to bear but I would start with giving analytics when you're starting to look at giving amounts and accounts. So let's go ahead and look at these features. So this is find under the finance features, giving analytics. Now when you first load up this screen, you're gonna see it in a state where we don't haven't actually displayed the data yet.
When we go through our reporting on all this data, it can it can be a little taxing on the system, it can be a little slow. So we want to make sure that when you come in here, you you look at all your settings and when it's filing to the state that you want, just go ahead and hit the update button and we'll bring that back that information. Okay. So this is showing you a graph representation of the giving for the previous three years and we're looking at specific currency types and accounts. Here, we've chosen to group it by year, but you can actually change that.
And so you can see that over time and see the ups and downs. We can shoot choose to show it by month. You can also do a lot of filtering over here. So you can say, show me only the gifts that are between this amount and that amount. This is another very powerful tool here, which is just limit it to the people in this data view.
Okay? So it'll show you all your data views. So if you want to look at maybe just members or just attendees or just people who are in a group of a certain type, this allows you to do a ton of different, filtering, just by, looking at data views. And then you have some more obvious ones, currency types, transaction source, and accounts. Okay.
So this will give you a nice chart, but you can also go ahead and look at the details. Okay. So this is gonna show you all givers and it defaulted to just show the primary giver in the family. So this is the person that is the primary giving unit of the family. And so we just see one per family.
Now, I can see first time gifts too, if there were any in our dataset. And it looks because I I did choose a three year range, they all had a first gift within within, the range. You can also look at this pattern set here too. So say you wanna say, show me all those who gave at least twice within a selected range, which is what I already had set. You can go ahead and filter those out too.
And then you get your results back. Now over here, can choose to see it by giver which is gonna be the primary giving unit for that family. Or you could say, what, I wanna see all the adults. Adults. I just don't wanna see, the primary giver, wanna see a list of all those adults.
Now, this is really helpful when you wanna export that, to Excel because now you can start doing, all kinds of things with this information or you might wanna do a merge letter or a merge doc based on on these values. So as you can see, Ted and Cindy are both shown here and their dollars are duplicate because they both give through the same giving unit, because we wanna see both adults, they'll be there. You can also choose to see the children of those adults. So in this case, obviously Alex and Noah have not given $7,000, but their parents have and so that's why they show up here. Or you could choose to see everybody in the family.
So by going through and using this tool and adjusting this tool, you can do a lot of, reporting and a lot of, what if analysis. It's common though that you you'll set a whole bunch of these settings, exactly the way you want and it can take a little bit of time to reset that. So we do provide this little tool here where if you click on this, it'll take all those settings and make a a link for you that you can reuse. So a lot of times what people will do is they'll bookmark these links Or in some cases, their administrator will take those links and make a page that just lists different, pre configured settings for them. And so when you click that link, it'll take you exactly to that, to this page pre configured to those settings, which is a very, helpful, tool.
Don't forget too if you're an administrator, there are block settings on this. So if you want to adjust, some of the default settings here, you can. But that is the giving analytics at a high level.
