Alright. You've created a program in LMS in the on demand mode. It's a little bit different when you're doing it with the academic calendar configuration mode. I'll show you how to do that now. Okay. We're at the Rock homepage, and we're going to go to people then learn so that we can create our first academic calendar program. And I'm going to name this leadership development academy. And I'm gonna add a summary here. And very important for configuration mode, we're gonna click academic calendar. Now the academic calendar, just as a reminder, is a program that follows a strict semester based schedule. We're gonna add an image, and we're happy with all the other settings. So I'm just gonna save and move on. Okay. We have our academic calendar configuration mode, program created. And one thing that's different from on demand is that there's a new tab called semesters for configuration here, and we have a semester that's been added for us by default called initial semester. I'm gonna go in and change it to spring twenty twenty six. And we are going to have it start on April 1, which it's required to pick a start date. It's not required to pick an end state, though I'm going to do that. And we're just gonna call it June 1. And enrollment close is going to be a little bit before our start date. Let's just say one month before. Gonna save. There's our first semester. I'm gonna go create a second semester. Okay. I've created the second semester, and we are going to go back to the learning program configuration, then create a course. And I'm gonna call this course introduction to the old testament and add a summary, also an image real quick. And, again, you can create requirements whether they're prerequisites or equivalent for this course, But this is our first one, so we won't have anything that. I'm gonna save. Now I'm going to create a class. And, again, we have a class that's initially created for you without you having to do anything, but, it it's also been automatically given a semester. I actually wanna go in and change this. It's gonna be called introduction to the Old Testament as well, but I'm gonna call it spring twenty twenty six because this is on a semester schedule, and a class is just an instance of a course. So we've already picked a semester here, and you can pick whichever one you have configured. Go through, pick your schedule, campus, location, maximum students if you'd as well. We're gonna save, and it's not much different than the on demand mode at this point, but I'm gonna show you the key differences. Alright. To see one of the differences, we're gonna go back to the program, which we can find in the breadcrumbs. So click on leadership development academy in this case. And we're gonna configure the program, then click on the course and edit. Then in the advanced settings, we can click enable announcements. Now when we go to a class, you'll notice we have a new tab called announcements, And this is where you can say when a new activity comes out, you can decide, do you want to send a communication by email or SMS? How do you wanna notify the students in your course about what's going on with this new activity, and that's available to you in the academic calendar mode. Note that students must have SMS enabled to be able to receive these communications through SMS. Alright. And let's move on to see what an academic calendar mode class will look for the students. We'll go to the external website, Click learn. And here's our new leadership development academy program. You can see our course here. And we have the spring twenty twenty six class. And notice it has the start date here. So it's not an on demand mode course where you can go and start whenever you want. This is gonna be on that semester schedule that you've set up already. Thank you for watching this video. I hope it was super easy for you to get your academic calendar mode program set up, and I will see you in the next video.
