So now, let's look at the details of a group. So again, to get to a group, let's go down to the group viewer and we'll go ahead and select a group and hit edit. So let's walk through each of the settings here on this page and just kind of try to understand, , what what your configuration points are. Obviously, you have the name and the description, whether it's active. Public says it's an active group, but there are maybe a couple groups that you just don't want to be public facing, so in a group finder. So, for instance, if your senior pastor is leading a small group and you don't really want everybody to see that in the finder because probably everybody would register for it, you can actually disable it being shown publicly. Under generals where we're gonna find a lot of the high level configuration of the group, the first is what group type is the group. Now, this will be an edit, control when you're adding a group. But once you've added the group, you can't change its group type. And that's because there's a lot of configuration that's tied to that group type. So if you were to simply just change this, you'd actually do yourself a disservice because all those roles would have to be remapped and a lot of attributes might be lost. So, at this point, once you create a group, you can't change its group type. Now, the concept of security role is interesting because security roles, if you think about it, are just groups, but they're groups of a certain type. This type is security role. That said, you might have a couple groups that you actually want to use as a security role. So instead of having to sync all this data back and forth, we optionally give you the ability to to make any specific group act a security role also. Okay. So that's a great way of having to reduce the number of security roles that you actually need. Groups can have a campus, that's optional. You can in your group type make it so that's required, but in this case it is not required. Also, could be that you might want to have a signed document before you can be in this group or or make it a requirement. So this would enable you to send out a document asking for a signature or a waiver to be in this group. And then which parent group is this group under? So you can change that anytime. So if you need to change the location in the group structure of where this group is, you can go ahead and just pick a new parent. Okay. So that's some of the general settings. Meeting details. Now, some of this is gonna be dependent upon your group type configuration and, , check out the group type video for more information on that. So basically, in here, you're just gonna set locations for your group. Now, some groups are allowed to have multiple locations, some are not. And you can set up different types of locations. So from here, if I go ahead and edit this, what I'll see in here is very dependent upon what was configured for the group type. So the group type in this case, it's a small group says, hey, my group type, basically my the only thing I can choose is a member within the group for its location. And then if I had multiple group type, multiple location types, I could actually pick it. But in this case, we just have one called meeting location. If I, come over here to other location, I do have the ability to enter just a a raw address or, pick a named location. Now, what shows up in here again is they're very gonna be very dependent upon the group type and what your administrator has allowed for this. So in this case, have member location or I can pick a named location or specify an address. Okay. So next after low the location, we're gonna look at schedule. And so there's a couple different ways you could use scheduling. In this case for a small group, it's basically using a simplified weekly schedule. Okay. So all we need to do to define the schedule say, hey, wait day what day of the week and what time of day. Now if it was configured by the administrator, we could actually use some very complex scheduling. So we could have reoccurrence, we could have all kinds of schedules. That might be appropriate for things , a serving group, but a lot of times with these, neighborhood groups or serving groups, I'm sorry, small groups, it's just easier to use this very simplified weekly schedule. Next, we'll see all the group attributes and we can provide values for that. So whatever was defined for this group type, what group attributes were supposed to be there, you can actually fill in their values. Same thing with group member attributes. Here though, we're actually defining group member attributes. So we're not filling them in. We do that on the on the group member detail screen, which we'll look at soon. But here, if you have administrate access to the group, you can actually add specific group member attributes just for this group. Okay? That's not a common use case, but it is it is kinda nice. You can also define group requirements for the group and we'll talk about that in a separate video. But this allows you to say, hey, if if a person is a part of this group, there's gonna be certain requirements that they must meet to be an active member. Below that is some sync settings. So if you want to say, hey, don't really want to manually add people to this group, I want to system them in to automate that adding up to the group, you can basically come in here and provide a data view. And anybody in that data view will then be added to this group. Now, when that happens, it's common that you might want to send an email saying, hey, you now have access to this group or you might want to also send email saying, hey, you're no longer in that group. Typically, a welcome email is common, an exit email is optional. Now, when you do this, it's also common that you might want that person to have a login and they may not have that. So to automate that creation of a login, you can go ahead and check that box. And a login will be created during the sync if they don't already have one. Now that login can also be put into your welcome email and that way they can see that that they have a new username and password and know about that. And then the final configuration setting here is just any kind of group member workflows you'd to create. So if we go in here, we have we gave basically, we give it a name to specify which workflow we want to launch. And then we just get to decide when we're gonna launch it. So this is very powerful. So you can say, hey, launch this workflow every time a member is added to the group. And then notice you can filter then by status or by role. So it might be that if their status is pending, you might wanna set kick off a workflow that would notify the leader that there's a new pending person in their group. But you can also do it on a lot of other cases too. So when someone's removed from a group, when a group member status has changed, when their role is changed. And note that on all of these, you get a lot of filters here. So, yeah, when the role is changed from leader to attendee. Okay. So now, it's very filtered when that workflow will be kicked off. You can also do it when they have attended a group or when a member is placed elsewhere. Okay? So now the these workflow configurations and triggers are just for this specific group. As you see as you'll see in the group type video, you can actually set these for every group of a certain type also. So but this is specific to this group that we're looking at. Okay. So that's really the editing of the group. Let's now look at group members. So to add a group member, you just hit the plus sign at the bottom and you'll be brought into this screen. Now, since we know that probably the first thing you're gonna wanna do is is to actually pick a person, we open up the person picker for you. So you can go ahead and select that and pick their role, add a specific note. This notify flag is used in the case where we're trying to notify them when during that sync process. So we show it here in case someone maybe says, hey, didn't get the email. Can you resend it? You can basically come in here and just uncheck the fact that they were notified and the system will then notify them on on the next time that that that job runs. And then you have your status. Now, it's also common too that when you're adding group members, you're gonna be doing it several times, adding several group members at once. So note that you can hit save or you can optionally hit save then add. And if you do that, what it's gonna do is it's gonna save that group member and then bring you right back to the screen. And you notice how fast that was. It almost was instantaneous. And now, I can very quickly and easily start adding group members in this way. So that concludes the details of groups.
