So let's first dive into registration templates and see what the configuration options are for those. Okay. So we look at registration templates under tools, event registration. Okay. And then you can organize your templates into categories. And let's go ahead and look at this, starting point template. Okay. So when we get into this screen, at the top we'll see the details and below it we'll see the various instances of this template. But we're gonna go ahead and start which is looking at the template itself. Okay. And we start a lot of things with a name and whether this template is active or not. And then if we want to move around its category, we can go ahead and do that also. Okay. So under details, now this is where we start to see a lot of configuration. Now, one of the common things that happens in event registrations is that when it's done being, entered, the person or the registrants will be dropped into a a group. So the first thing we're gonna configure here is what group type do we want to be able to drop these folks into. And for that group type, what role should they have and what status should they have when they're added to the group. Okay. So these first three settings here help us with that. Next, we have some notification options. It's common that we want to be notified when new registrations happen and this allows various ways for that to occur. One is the registration contact can be notified. But because that's only one person, we offer a few other options too. The next is, anybody who's following that group. So anybody who goes to the group and follows it by hitting the star in the upper right hand corner can also be notified as well as any group leaders, who are configured for that group. To the right here, you can optionally select to have a note added to the person's record that they've registered for a certain event which is nice. Below that we have login required. So usually you don't require people to log in. It's, kind of an extra friction point to completing a registration. But if you do want them to log in you can go ahead and select yes. Allow group placement. So group placement is kind of an advanced feature but it basically allows you to after they've registered put them into different groups. So we'll have a different video just on that topic. Allow external updates to save registration allow external updates to saved registrations. So this means are you do you want to allow people to be able to go back into an event registration at a later point and change the registration itself? After a registration has been processed, you can optionally start a workflow. And so this can do various things. It can notify people on the inside of the fact that a registration occurred or it can email the registrant some additional forms, whatever you would . Below that is the ability to have signed documents as a part of your registration. Now, if you had some of these documents configured, you could go ahead and select them and which ones, you wanted to have them, sign. And next to it, you can determine whether that, document should be signed in line, so that's as a part of the registration Or if you don't check this box, they'll be emailed a link later to sign it. Okay. So if we move over to the other side here, are we gonna allow multiple registrate registrants per registration? So typically, you're gonna say yes. And what's the maximum number of registrants? If you leave it at zero you can basically add as many as they want. Next up we have a little setting here that helps determine, some of those family settings that we saw in our walkthrough video. So we recommend that you use the ask, so it's gonna ask if each registrant is part of the family of the other registrants. If for sure that that's definitely gonna be the case, you could say yes or if for sure that's definitely not gonna be the case, say no. And so if you're doing a registration maybe for conference that you're having and it's basically gonna be other pastors, you might want to say no because they're probably not gonna be in the same family. Okay. So a lot of registrations have costs associated. And so here you can determine whether the cost will be set on the template or on the instance. So if it's a consistent cost all the time, put it on the template. Otherwise, it on the instance. And then you would just put in how what's the cost for the registration and how much do they need to pay initially to complete the registration. Also, can have you must have a financial gateway to use for your processing and you can optionally put a batch prefix here. And that will help keep those registrations all in the same batch. So that's a lot of configuration, a lot of power up here in this first panel. Let's drill down and see some more. Next, we're gonna look at the forms. So this is a very powerful part of the registration process asking the asking about information about each registrant. And so here we've configured just three, entry points, the first name, the last name, and the email address. But let's go ahead and look at all the options inside here. Okay. So our source here, it can be one of a couple options. One is we saw person field. So if you say person field, there's a fixed set of person properties that we can go ahead and ask for. Whatever they provide here will actually go right onto the person's record. Okay? So that's hopefully pretty obvious. You can also put person attributes here. So this is a great way to update things that you want to, be the same across registration. So for instance, maybe a t shirt size. Instead of putting that on the registration itself, , as a data point, you can actually put it as a person attribute on the person's record. Okay. Now when you do that, what's kind of nice is you can say use the current value. So if we already have a t shirt size from a previous registration, we could say, yeah, use the current value. They can always change it. That's fine. But at least we're kind of giving them the data already halfway there that we already had from the past. Okay. So person attribute was another one. You can also have a registration attribute. So this attribute is on the registration itself so that that's where that data point will live. And basically, if you've seen the screen in lots of places within Rock, you're basically creating a new attribute, for them. And then the final option is group member attribute. As we mentioned, a lot of times, at the end of the registration process, this person is being dropped into a group. And so you can have this the answer to this question actually go right into that group membership. Now that assumes that that group type that we set up earlier actually has group member attributes. In this case, it doesn't. If it did, this is this is a great way of pushing that data all the way down into the group. Okay. So let's go back to person attribute and let's look at a few other settings here. So internal field says, yeah, wouldn't have this information about the registrant but I don't want them to enter it. I'm gonna go ahead and enter it internally. So some data items you might want to enter post a registration. Common value says that on the first registrant, go ahead and get the value and then as they go through and enter the preceding registrants, go ahead and use that first value at least as a default for all the next values. And that helps them again kind of reduce the amount of entry that they have to do. Required and show on grid are pretty obvious and those are pretty common to other places in Rock when we talk about attributes. Okay. So you can develop some really robust rich forms using this. And note that you can put pre and post text and that helps you kind of put these form fields next to each other or wrapper them in a well to kind of pretty up your form. So definitely look at that especially with complex, forms. There's actually a video, that describes how to do that. Okay. So as we would build up this this form with with more and more data points, do note that you can add multiple forms. Okay? So you can have them enter these three options, hit next, and then if we add another form we can have them then enter a few more. This helps break up those forms, so they don't seem too, cumbersome. Do note though that when you add multiple forms per registrant and you have multiple registrants, it can feel a little confusing, to know which one you're on. The user interface does help walk them through that and help them know where they're at, but it is a little bit of a friction point to in understanding where they're at in the process. Okay. So that's forms and those are really powerful. Next, we have the fees. And so we have a whole video on the different types of fees. So we won't kind of go through that in too much detail. They basically give your fee a name, determine whether you want the options that a single option or multiple options, what the cost is, and if you, , choose multiple, that'll change so you can add multiple different costs, whether you should be able to have multiple quantities of each of these, and whether the discount applies to this fee or not. Speaking of discounts, that's the next one. So here you can add just different discount codes for this event registration. And so you just type in the code, determine whether the discount was either a percentage or an amount, and then, whatever that percentage or amount is would go down here. The next three are just, updating the confirmation, email, the reminder email, and the payment reminder email. So So you have the ability to go in here and customize this. For the most part, most people leave this pretty stock. Okay? So it's gonna pull from the from the email header in the global setting. So you just go update that that email and for the most part, all this body down here, you pretty much want to leave it just the way it is. There's a lot of logic in here that's doing things explaining how much they still owe and and doing other things around waitlist features. So for the most part, you you want to leave that pretty stock. And the same thing is is true with all these email items. But they pretty much all look the same inside. Okay. Finally, terms and text. So as you're describing your registration, sometimes you want to use the word registration, sometimes you don't. Okay. So this allows you to customize all the different terms in the user experience for for entering your registration. And even things fees might be additional options instead of fees. Discount code might be discount code. Maybe you want to use a different term for that and you can customize all that in here as well as the success text. So when you're done on that last panel of the process of registering, this is what kind of shows the receipt information. Again, you could change it but, we'd recommend at least in the beginning keeping it, pretty stock. Okay. So those are all of the settings and how to configure a registration template.
