The DISC assessment is one of the five assessments available in Rock, and it's a quadrant style personality assessment that may be similar to other assessments that you've seen before, but we'll take a look at what makes this one unique and how it might be able to benefit your organization. As with any assessment, the first step is going to be to request it. You can do this for an individual by going to the person profile and clicking on the actions button. And then there down at the bottom of the list is the request assessment link. As soon as you click it, you'll be brought to a page where you can select one or more assessments for the person to take.
In this case, we're selecting DISC. Now, that's for an individual, but you can also request assessments through email for groups or lists using Rock's communication wizard. Once the individual receives their request, they can log in to the external website and along the right under assessments, they can click start assessment, which once they do for DISC they'll be brought to this page that gives them some instructions on what the assessment is all about and how to take it. Within the assessment you'll be asked to identify a statement with which you agree the most and the least. And so there'll be multiple sets of four statements and you'll pick one statement with which you most agree and one statement with which you least agree, leaving two statements that won't have any selection.
Once the assessment is finished, you'll be immediately provided with the results. Here we can see Ted Decker scored highest in the D and C areas, and so you can see there below his name he has been assigned a personality type of DC. Now, what does that mean? There are four DISC types in the assessment represented by the letters DISC. And what do each of those mean?
The D type is defined as being dominant, driving, determined, and decisive. The I type is inspirational, impressive, influencing, and impulsive. The S type is steady, stable, specialized. And the C type is cautious, competent, consistent, and conscientious. And you'll notice here we have D and C highlighted because as you'll recall Ted Decker scored highest in those areas and was assigned a personality type of DC.
That's because Ted scored highest in the D category and second highest in the C category and so using this graph you'll start with the column along the left and then move over And so we see that DC is one of the 16 available results that a person can be assigned. Each of those 16 results within our documentation posted online has a full description of how that personality type operates in various scenarios. So you can see that for each of the 16 types, we can determine what their strengths are, challenges, how they operate under pressure, what motivates them, how they contribute to a team, what their leadership style is, and what their follower style is. And that's all there is for the DISC assessment. Now, it is a personality assessment and not meant to be the end all and be all of what makes up a person, but it gives you some insight into some of the factors that may play into how a person operates within your organization.
So we encourage you to take the assessment if you haven't already. Encourage others in your organization to do the same. Thanks for watching.
