Payment plans allow people to make payments for fees associated with event registrations over time in installments, making it easier to afford events. Let's take a look at how it works. So the first step to creating a payment plan is registering for an event with fees. Let's go ahead and do that now quickly. So here you can see we have our usual event registration, flow, and we're gonna go ahead and fill this out, a little bit quickly here. Okay. Here we've got Noah's information filled out, and here we've got a registration for Alexis. And lastly, we've got a registration for Alexis' friend, Katie. And then here we come to the final step where we look at the payment summary. And if we scroll down, you can see that there's a setup payment plan button down here, but it's grayed out. We can't use it right now. That's because currently, we're paying the full amount today. So there's nothing left over to start a payment plan with. So in order to activate that button, we need to pay something less than the total amount due. So I'll just say we're not gonna pay anything today, and we're gonna set up a payment plan for the full cost. If I click that, the first part is easy. Simply select how frequently you want the payments to be, and then, we'll we'll show you where that's configured shortly. And then pick a start date for the payment plan when you wanna start it. So we can say that we want to do a biweekly payment that starts there. And as soon as we plug that in, you can see that, some additional fields come up. Here, the person can pay to choose some amount today, and they can choose how many payments they want to make overall. And so let's go ahead and change the number of payments to, we'll say, four. And just keep in mind, it won't let you pay the full amount due here today, again, because there would be no payment plans to set up. And once we hit apply, you can see that there's a summary of the payment plan here, on the page. And we have the option at this point to, change it if we want to. So we can click change, make any changes we want, and hit apply. And we can also cancel the payment plan if we decide that it's just not for us. Otherwise, you can just click next and proceed with the credit card payment, and and the registration process is finished. Okay. Let's go to Ted's, my account page. And, briefly, we'll go down to, the summer camp under recent registrations, which has the dollar sign there, which means that there's still, a balance owed. But we can click on that. And when we do, we can review the registration. And if we scroll down here, we can see again a summary of the payment plan. And all we have now, though, is the option to delete it. And so if somebody wants to make a change to their payment plan, that's really the only option they have is to delete the existing one. And if we do, you can build a new one from scratch. Okay. So let's switch back over to the internal site to see how payment plans are managed administratively. K. From the home page here, we'll navigate to tools and event registration. And then from there, we can click on the registration instance and take a look at the registration. The first thing to note is that Ted is showing up with a balance due, So we can see that down here. And there's a little calendar icon, and that's your indicator that he has a payment plan established. So if we click on that row, you can see a summary of the payment plan kind of there in the center of the screen. And you may note that administrators have the ability to change the plan. And so we can click the change button. And a key difference here is that the administrator is not limited to the same number of payments options that the person had when they signed up. This is to allow administrators the discretion to extend the payment plan beyond the due date if someone is worried about making their payments. Let's go back to the registration, we're gonna check out the security for this block. And we'll do that by opening up the block settings. And over here, we'll go to the Padlock icon to look at the, security. And then you'll notice that there's a security verb for edit payment plan. And that's what allowed us to change the plan we just saw. If you don't have security here, you won't be able to make changes that. Okay. Now let's go to the registration template so that we can take a look at, how to enable payment plans. And so to do that, we'll come down here under general and pull up our summer camp registration template and edit it. And then if we open up the details panel and scroll down just a little bit, you can see here that we have the option to enable payment plans. And just make sure that your financial gateway supports this. You can contact them to confirm. You can also limit the frequency options from here. If none of them are selected you see now, then all of them will be shown. Okay. So now let's go back to the registration instance and take a look at what we can do there when we edit it. The main thing to, look for here is the payment deadline. The payment deadline is pretty crucial, and it's the date by which all payment payments on the plan must be made unless an administrator has extended it by doing what we just saw. The payment plan deadline is really important in calculating the person's payments, so you need to make sure that it's filled in or you won't be able to use payment plans appropriately. We hope you found this to be helpful. Be sure and check out the event and calendar guide for more details about payment plans. And thanks for watching.
