With passwordless login, people can easily and securely log in to your site with minimal friction. There are different ways to set it up, but you can give people the option of either a traditional login or a passwordless login. And we'll take a look at what that looks now. So we're here at the login screen on your external website, and here you can see that we've enabled passwordless login on the right and then the traditional username password login on the left. But but keep in mind your page doesn't have to look this way. So for instance, you can disable the username and password option completely and have everyone use passwordless login if you want. For passwordless login, the person can provide either an email or a phone number. Rock will automatically determine whichever one it is and send the person either an email or a text message accordingly. The email will have a button to click where you can log in, and the text message will contain a confirmation code that would then be entered into Rock, in order to log in. Okay. So what we're gonna do here is take a look at the block settings for this login block. And once we do, there's there's a couple things that we wanna highlight here. And as far as passwordless login goes. And those are that we wanna make sure that under secondary authentication types, pat passwordless login is checked on. That basically makes it active. And then there's the show internal database login. And so that's just saying, do you also want to show the, typical username password login option? And we have that set to yes, which is why, we saw both of them on the login screen. Then there's the default login method, and you can choose either password list or the internal database. We've chosen password list. But if we wanted to shift it to internal database, we could do that. And we'll take a look at what that looks here. We'll save that. Okay. So now you can see things have kinda changed. Now we have the username and password over here on the right and the, sign in, with an email or phone. In other words, the passwordless login is here on the left. So a slight difference there. Then below that, we have the captions. And there are a variety of messages that the person may see depending on their situation. And so here you can just customize what those messages say. And there's quite a few of them, and they're all customizable. Next, we're gonna take a look at some security settings, related to passwordless login. So to do that, we're gonna go to admin tools and then security. And then under security, we're gonna go to security settings. And we're gonna look at the authentication settings panel here. And you can see that we have, some options related to passwordless login. So, we have the sign in daily IP throttle, which means you can only use it from any given IP a thousand times a day. You might wanna tweak that a little bit if you feel you need to, but really it's just to keep bad actors from trying to log in more than that. This is how long the session is good for, two hours for the passwordless log in. After that, the session will end. You can also make it so that passwordless login doesn't work, or will not be available, for people with certain protection profiles. So in this case, we're saying if if you're in an extreme, protection profile, we don't want you to use passwordless login. You'll need to log in with your credentials. And then, we mentioned that there's an email and a text message that, can go out to the person. This is where you pick which communication template those are associated with, and Rock ships with one, just for that. Lastly, we're gonna take a look at the passwordless login confirmation system communication. And to do that, we're gonna head to admin tools and communications. And then under under communications, we're gonna click on system communications. And from here, we're gonna scroll down to our password list login confirmation system communication. And so this is the email that a person will get. And as you can see, it has the complete sign in button. All they'll need to do is click that button and they'll be logged in to Rock. If they went the text message route, and used SMS, we have configuration for that down here too. You will need to add a phone number down here initially, in order for for this part to work. And those phone numbers are configured under admin tools, communications, and system phone numbers. And then once you have that phone number set up, you can come in and add it here and, enable the SMS functionality. Just remember that you need to be using the Obsidian version of the login block in order for passwordless login to work. And so for more information on passwordless login, check out the admin hero guide. And thanks for watching.
