If your organization checks people in with barcode scanners, you can capture a person's barcode right on the registration screen so it is ready the first time they check in.

When Display Alternate ID Field for Adults or Display Alternate ID Field for Children is turned on, scanning a barcode on the registration screen writes it to the person's Alternate ID field automatically. Both settings are in the Check-in Registration section of the check-in configuration (see Configure Check-in Registration).
